Maybe Bochy? Static 10-16-2006, 03:56 PM In their infinite wisdom, the Cubs already snatched Lou up. Maybe Bochy? It would seem like a good situation for him as far as location. Dont really know how urgent he is to leave or for the Padres to rid themselves of him. mitchrock 10-16-2006, 03:57 PM Girardi would be great there. Transplanted Caper 10-16-2006, 04:01 PM It would seem like a good situation for him as far as location. Dont really know how urgent he is to leave or for the Padres to rid themselves of him. The Padres gave Bochy permission to speak with other teams. Most had him linked to the Cubs, but that seems to be out the window now. Brodeur 10-16-2006, 04:02 PM They should just hire the computer that wrote Moneyball :sarcasm: Wouldn't surprise me if the A's just promoted from within. Hockeyfan02 10-16-2006, 04:09 PM Maybe they can look for a replacement and hire him back again like last year. Tuggy 10-16-2006, 04:22 PM Machabot finally disabled. Death Taxes Conacher 10-16-2006, 04:28 PM Ron Washington? Tuggy 10-16-2006, 04:33 PM Ron Washington? I think there is a good chance of that and I hope he is the choice. USF Shark 10-16-2006, 06:31 PM good, it's about time that moron was sent packing...here's hoping for Ron Washington as manager!!:crossfing robert terwilliger 10-16-2006, 07:56 PM joe morgan. KH1 10-16-2006, 08:39 PM I think there is a good chance of that and I hope he is the choice. I agree, Washington deserves a legitimate chance for a job. Before he becomes the new Willie Randolph (teams stop taking him seriously because he becomes the token minority candidate.) Fish on The Sand 10-16-2006, 09:18 PM I agree, Washington deserves a legitimate chance for a job. Before he becomes the new Willie Randolph (teams stop taking him seriously because he becomes the token minority candidate.) Fredi Gonzalez was usually the token minority guy, but he's finally found a job now. Tuggy 10-17-2006, 05:51 AM joe morgan. I think A's fans would revolt if that happened. robert terwilliger 10-17-2006, 05:53 AM yeah but imagine how funny it would be as joe searched the oakland coliseum for the computer that wrote moneyball. Ironchef Chris Wok* 10-17-2006, 07:38 AM And Terry Francona still has a job. David Puddy 10-17-2006, 06:36 PM They should just hire the computer that wrote Moneyball :sarcasm:The computer would be just too perfect. The A's would go 162-0. They still probably would lose in the playoffs, but Bud Selig would have to have the A's fire the computer "in the best interest of baseball." And Terry Francona still has a job.Because he actually won the World Series. It took something special to comeback after being down 3 games to none against the Yankees. KH1 10-17-2006, 08:17 PM It took something special to comeback after being down 3 games to none against the Yankees. Yup--David Ortiz, Kevin Brown and Javier Vazquez. robert terwilliger 10-17-2006, 08:19 PM Yup--David Ortiz, Kevin Brown and Javier Vazquez. lowe, pedro, mueller, bellhorn, foulke, damon... USF Shark 10-17-2006, 08:22 PM And Terry Francona still has a job. yeah, but last time i checked, the Red Sox players have not come out and publicly bashed Francona like the players have Macha...that was a major reason he was fired, along with the fact that he's a horrible in game manager. So far the A's are going to meet with Washington, Bob Geren the bench coach and other candidates are Larry Bowa, Bud Black and Orel Hershiser (according to the SF Chron at least) KH1 10-17-2006, 08:24 PM yeah, but last time i checked, the Red Sox players have not come out and publicly bashed Francona like the players have Macha...that was a major reason he was fired, along with the fact that he's a horrible in game manager. So far the A's are going to meet with Washington, Bob Geren the bench coach and other candidates are Larry Bowa, Bud Black and Orel Hershiser (according to the SF Chron at least) Washington, Black or Hershiser would all be great in Oakland. I don't really know about Geren, but Bowa? ...not so much. | ||
