As you might have noticed, the boards crashed yesterday and they had to upgrade the boards to bring them back up, which changed some settings, so things might look a little bit different.

Nothing got lost, thankfully! Well, nothing except avatars, you'll need to reinstall them.

Answers to any other questions/problems you might have can be found in this thread. (http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=31341) Any questions, please let me know!

Is it me or we lost many options during the upgrade? At one point, I couldn't even reply to threads. I hope it'll come back with the old design. It was better that way...

According to this, you can fix it if you want:

The "Post Reply" button appears to have been lost on the default template we're using. It must have been a custom addition or an update that wasn't included in the software that was reloaded. Either use "quick reply" or change the Style Set in UserCp/Options to "OLD". That will give you the old HF template with the extra reply buttons.

I just use the quick reply 90% of the time, if I need to put in smilies or something but not quote someone, I just hit the reply under someone's post and delete their words. :)

Anyone else having to log in every time you visit the board?

Here are instructions for fixing that, straight from the boss:

Login problems are a cookie issue. Due to the crash, some of you need new cookies to stay logged in. The ones you have are either corrupted, or the new board settings makes them appear corrupted. That means you have to get rid of the old cookies first.

Logout, delete your cookies and temp internet files, shutdown your browser then reopen it login again with the box for remember password checked.

If you've installed a popup blocker or firewall since you last activated your account, you may have to disable it or change the settings to receive new cookies. If your internet security settings have changed you may have to adjust them to receive new cookies.

Alternatively you can try to resolve the problem by changing your password in UserCP > Password
http://hfboards.com/profile.php?do=editpassword
Please make sure your email address is correct!!!
When you change your password you'll receive an activation email just like when you registered. When you reactivate your account that should replace your old cookies with new ones. If anyone tries this method, please let us know if it works.
Just remember, if you go for the new password route, if the email you use for your account is Hotmail or Yahoo or one of those, it frequently treats the auto-response email from HFBoards as spam, so if you don't see the new password confirmation, check your spam inbox!

This is now fixed, btw.
