Are any of you fans of SC Bern or familiar with the Swiss-A league? I hear that Claude LaPointe (former NHL'er) was playing for them at the beginning of the season, but recently had surgery on his knee. He's not listed on the teams website anymore, so can anyone tell me if he's on the IR or if he's even returning to the team once he's recovered? Thanks.
J.

So I answered my own question tonight. LaPointe is playing in Martigny Switzerland, not sure what league it is, but it's below Swiss-A. He had knee surgery in early October to repair a torn meniscus and has recently signed with the above team.

SC Bern didn't extend his contract because of his injury. Martigny plays in the NLB wich is the second highest Swiss league.

Lapointe played on Bern's 4th line early in the season with a contract valid only through october. Swiss league team can't dress more than 5 imports, and Bern wouldn't waste one of these for a 4th liner, so his contract was not extended.

As info, Claude Lapointe didn't play any game with Martigny this season.
Lapointe's stats in Switzerland:
NLA Bern, 4 GP - 0 G - 0 A - 0 Pts - 0 PM
