I was wondering what everyone thought of Kamloops player Max Gordichuk?
He's huge and it's his rookie year and he seems to be doing pretty well. I was just wondering because I think he's got alot more potential than a guy like Mark Fistric who's rated 14th and Gordichuk isn't even on the list.
Thanks

Not sure how you can honestly think Max has more potential than Fistric, especially living in Toronto. Anyway, Fistric will be a very good NHL defensman. His shooting, skating and hockey sense are way above avergae and he is vert tough. He plays very mean for a 17 yrd old and is the leader of the backend already.
Max no doubt will be drafted but has a lot of work to go. He has already improved a great deal because of the ice time he is getting, however his skating remains very weak. Once he gets going he is ok, but he can not turn quickly and gets beat a lot one on one.

It's called TV;). Not the same as actually watching a game live and that's why I'm asking the question.
p.s. I'm not a big fan of Fistric's hockey sense either but maybe it's easier to miss on the boob tube.

In my mind Fistric WILL be a decent NHL'ers once he works on his skating. I honestly think his skating is belowe average. I have seen the Giants 7 times this year and he only impressed me in Exhibition. His hockey sense seems to be lacking and his speed/skating. Gordichuk on the other hand is way taller and lankier then Fistric. Once Mac puts on 20-30 pounds he will be a force like Lane Manson in Moose Jaw. Max is not mean yet although a he gets experience in the league he will toughen up. Max seems to have better offensive instincts than Fistric. At this very moment the reason I could see them Having Fistric ahead of Gordichukl is the fact that he is more Pro ready physically and has one year of WHL under his belt whereas Max played Junior A last year, and did not play that much. I am sure Max will soon step ahead of Fistric.

Your opinion I bet is biased based on your location (Being the same home town as Gordichuk). Just a guess though. To me Fistric is a better player and a more complete prospect.

Guess or not, that is a pretty bold accusation.

I'm sure bias has nothing to do with peoples opinions on hockey players.

I never said it didn't.
What I will say, is that you had no reason to accuse him of it. Nothing good could have come from your accusation.
