Odd statistics, but intresting.
Who has score the most goals in least games?
The unexpected answer is Pavel Brendl.
Pos Name, Team, League, Games, Goals.
1. Pavel Brendl, Mora IK, SEL, 25 , 21
2. Petr Sykora, HC Pardubice, Czech Extraliga, 26, 20
3. Alexej Morozov, AK Bars Kazan, Russian Super League, 24, 17
4. Martin Prochazka, HC Kladno, Czech Extraliga, 26, 17
5. Brendan Shanahan, New York Rangers, NHL, 24, 17
6. Marian Hossa, Atlanta Thrashers, NHL, 26, 17
Nalyd Psycho 11-29-2006, 06:10 PM Not too surprising, Brendl could always score, he just doesn't have the skill to get scoring chances at the NHL level.

It gets worse, he has 9 assists too :)
arrbez 11-29-2006, 07:23 PM Perhaps he can parlay this newfound talent into a big contract, save up some money, and finally achieve the Brendl family dream of buying a vowel?

Well, he's a star over here, and has got a decent salary.
And Swedish has lots of free vovels.
So maybe he'll be known as Brendöl soon.
Nalyd Psycho 11-29-2006, 07:32 PM He should play in Finland then, I hear they force at least 3 i's into your name upon entry.

Actually, Swedish has more different vowels than finnish.
They just repeat theirs to cover up.

Hmm, not sure.
But I think we lead with 3 (åäö) vowels.
Czech and others lead in practice with hidden vowels.

That ****'s just unecessary. They can't even invent their own words, they just add vowels to other people's!

Well, it's just what I've always stated.
Dutch is a combo language.
It's a mix of scandinavian and german, with the throat decease sounds inherited from danish.

They spell their words like Brian Murray talks. Wow:amazed:

The problem isn't the spelling, it's how they pronounce it.

How about this(a bit old, but still valid):
Stavanger Oilers NOR 2. divisjon 01/02 21 116 110 226
So over 5goals/game and a bit over 10points/game. Pretty cool.

That's what I was thinking, too. This is the History of Hockey section, not the NHL Forum or the International Hockey forum.
Talent was never the issue with Brendl. Likely one of the best shots to enter the NHL in the last 20 years. He wasn't a great skater, but he wasn't a liability skating-wise, either. His problem is he just didn't come close to having the necessary work ethic to succeed in the show: he lacked the commitment to the game and the commitment to conditioning.
jumptheshark 12-19-2006, 06:34 AM well
