Looks like it will be Storr vs Caron in the nets tonight.

Ward and Wesley are doubtful.

Adams is bringing in a two game point streak to tonight's game. :shakehead

How has Caron played this year? I know he has been lit up big time in a couple of games but has that been the exception kind of like Weekes?

Caron has been pretty good this season, overall. He started out the season a bit rough, but his last several games he has really been on top of things. The games where he has been lit up, I really think that is more of a reflection on the poor defensemen that we have in the lineup.

I've been duped by the N&O once again. Kevin Weekes is in net.

Penguins leading at the end of one period on a goal from Brian Holzinger. Quite possibly the most useless player on the entire team.

Assists went to Matt Bradley and Dick Tarnstrom.

Carolina won in shots in the first period, 9-8.

Vrbata on the powerplay! Assists go to Vasicek and O'Neill.

All tied up at 1.

No sooner do I type that it's tied, and Marty Murray scores on the wraparound.

2-1 Hurricanes.

Hurricanes holding on to the lead, 3-2, after the second period.

Hurricanes barely hold on to win the game by a score of 4-3!

Sweet victory. :handclap:

What are you first and foremost, Pens or Canes fan?

I know you love them both but which one is your A team?

Penguins first and foremost. Lived in the area and been a fan all my life. Only started getting into the Hurricanes about three years ago.

Mind me asking why?

Besides the Penguins the only team I give half of a rat's ass about is Colorado and that's only because my brother lives there and the area is heaven(Denver sucks, Colorado as a whole is amazing though).

I was a big fan of Shane Willis. Once he left, I kept watching and got attached.

Poor Shane.

I was at the game last night. While it was a close game in score it really was fairly one sided and we could have easily have had a final of 4-1 or even a 4-0 shutout.

The Good:
Radim Vrbata and the offense. These guys were on tonight for the most part. O'Neill looked a good bit like he didn't care early on but really got going on the powerplay. Staal was solid and generated some high quality opportunities, he just doesn't have the line mates to cash in on his setups or to set Staal up for a goal himself.

The Bad:
The defense outside of Danny Markov and Sean Hill. These two were the only players that were consistent through the game. Other then those two the defense was most dissapointing.

The Ugly:
Penalty Killing and Defensive Zone Turnovers. Again, this goes back to the defense. If they had their act together this would not have been much of a game at all. Kevin Weekes can not really be faulted on any of the goals against the Canes as the defense was not really doing its job in clearing the garbage and even controling the puck (see Koltsov goal in the 3rd).
