(CBH.com) The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that winger Eric Daze will undergo surgery tomorrow to repair a herniated disc in his back.
Daze appeared in three games for the Blackhawks this season before experiencing back pain that has sidelined him since. He is expected to be out of the lineup for approximately 10 weeks.
"Eric had been working three hours a day on back strengthening exercises and his back is actually very strong," said Blackhawks Head Trainer Mike Gapski. "This surgery is not related to any of his previous surgeries because it is in a totally different area. We are optimistic that he will have a full recovery because he's been working so hard and his back is extremely strong."
