He just got claimed off of waivers by Dallas, his old team. A bit bizarre. I guess he had to clear waivers after he signed with the wings to go back down to Grand Rapids. I bet that pisses off wings management. Not that they lost sloan, but it seems like a lot of wasted time to spend on a guy who ends up on a rival.
No big loss.

I don't get why he became such a prize. He is not anything special but I think that the Wings are going to have to do something if they really don't want Robinson up here. Strange very strange.

It was the same thing we had to so with Steve Thomas. It has something to do with if you sign a free agent after the waiver draft, then they must clear waivers before they are placed on the roster. Steve Thomas had to clear waiver, which he obviously did (though I heard a few teams were looking to pick him up. I heard Columbus for one) Steve Webb was signed by Pittsburgh, and didn't clear waivers (I believe Philly took him), and now Blake Sloan had to clear waivers, and Dallas took him. I was kinda looking forward to seeing him play, he seemed like a small, but fast and feisty player. Oh well...
I guess that rule is to keep teams from waiting to sign a player until after the waiver draft so they don't have to have the player take up a spot on the protected list. I guess the rule makes sense, and that it wasn't THAT huge of a loss. I sure am glad nobody took Thomas though.

As far as Webb, other way around. He was signed by Philly and then claimed by Pittsburgh. The reason, however, was because they tried to send him down to the Phantoms.
