The Sharks missed him when he was out recently. Defensive defensemen seldom get enough credit for their contributions.

Didn't him missing a few games coincide with the stretch earlier where we went 6-7? Could happen again if he misses more than just 2.

Best time to do it. Every time he leaves the Sharks struggle. Him and Hannan really do anchor the Defence, and as good as Pickles is, the guy can't legaly drink booze in the US still and is still rookie. Erhoff is good but as we've seen the guy can have defencive lapses still. Carle is an award winner, but he just came off a demotion to the AHL and I'm still waiting to see where hes gonna level off this season. Also, think of who Kyle's replacement would be.

I expect SJ will definitely look for a possible backup for him (before the trade deadline)

He's been very timid about his hits ever since his injury. Hopefully recovering from this gives him an injection of confidence.

Yes, he did have the same thing done last year, in mid December.

I think that flu was legit. :) But yeah, I agree that the knee troubles are worrisome, especially because McLaren's game plan is chiefly to run into people as much as possible.
