Horton on Poll on TSNRattrick 12-08-2003, 01:53 PM Go check out http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/main.asp You will be very surprised! Crossbar 12-08-2003, 02:05 PM Sweet, go Horty! :yo: Coolburn 12-08-2003, 02:18 PM Damn 77% of the people want to see him to the junior championships. I knew I was on to something when I started that poll with whether he should go or not. Unfortunately, Dudley has already said no but hopefully both Stewart & Swanson can represent Canada for the Panthers. I wonder if any of our other prospects will potentially play in the WJC for their respective countries. I see from the preliminary lists that Vuorio could be back-up goalie for Finland (http://www.iihf.com/news/iihfpr8103.htm). Anyone hear of any others? sting_fan 12-08-2003, 05:44 PM What disappoints me most about Horton not participating in the WJC is the fact that he himself isn't very interested in playing for his country. Remax 12-09-2003, 03:04 AM Well, what I've think, Horton is not only thinking about himself right now, but he is also thinking of his future. I think is that he wants to stay in the bigs and play and make money now while he can. It he stays and plays now and makes money, he can then play for Canada next year and the Jrs. I think its a good idea that he stays and plays one full year in the NHL and puts his money away for a dark day incase anything were to ever happen where he either couldn't play or wasn't allowed to play. Thats my thoughts Captain8 12-09-2003, 12:26 PM What disappoints me most about Horton not participating in the WJC is the fact that he himself isn't very interested in playing for his country. Perhaps I overlooked a published quote from Horton, but it could be a case of the organization simply steering the decision in accordance with their preference as well as Horton's. Had Dudley felt differently about the matter (and who knows, maybe it's Cohen's decision), Horton may have grudgingly gone along and still given his heart and soul once he hit the ice in Finland. But he probably got the vibe early on that the Panthers wanted him to stay and that sentiment may have affected whatever feedback he gave to Team Canada. What I'm getting at is that many junior eligible prospects say they prefer spending Christmas in the NHL. Fleury basically said as much, but Patrick (with Olczyk's and Mario's support, I'm sure) made the call. PanthersRule96 12-09-2003, 12:31 PM 77%, over Nash and Bergeron and Staal? Wow! Coolburn 12-09-2003, 02:03 PM Just an FYI, I found via the Central Scouting Board that Kamil Kreps is expected to represent the Czech Republic as well at the WJC. I know he's played much better in the last week so thats good news as well. | ||
