ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled left wing Michael Holmqvist from the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). At the same time, the club sent center Tony Martensson back to Cincinnati.

Martensson wasn't given much playing time in his four appearances. Hopefully Holmqvist will be given more ice time. He was playing well for Cincy. (22 games 7 goals 7 assists)

I liked Martensson. That's too bad.

I'm starting a Recall Martensson campaign. Where's that weepy senator, whatshisname...Issa?

I want in, he looked good and deserved some descent playing time. If what he showed is any indication I think he could produce on the top 2 lines.

In Today's LA Times it says that Bryan Murray is hoping Holmqvist's size will help make up for the team's lack of size and physical play with Niedermayer out.

Babcock said he wasn't expecting Niedermayer or Ozolinsh in the lineup vs the Sharks.

LA Times also said Mike Leclerc is still out for another 6 weeks.
