Too bad the coaches already have a contract to vote for the winner of the Sugar Bowl. Michigan will win anyway so there will only be one #1 team the BCS will be saved. I'm a big Michigan fan btw. :p If the boys play like they did Sunday night they should win this game, lets hope they show that same effort and intensity.

well it depends on Navarre on how he does...
if he can get into rhythm than i'm scared for our secondary..
Perry is going up against one of the best rush defenses.. USC averages 62 yards per game rushing.
Plus i don't know if Michigan has played against a high powered well rounded offense that USC has...

Thats the problem. They CAN NOT vote for USC. They are bound by the BCS contract to vote for the winner of the Sugar Bowl. Whoever wins that game will be the champ of the coaches poll. If USC wins I'll be happy because I hate the BCS so a split National Champ would screw up the BCS. LOL. This is turning into a Mich/USC game thread. Lets talk hockey! Hopefully Gerbs can get some goal support tonight. We should be able to beat a team like San Jose.

Where was Fedorov? He led the team in shots on goal. Had some good chances and almost scored off that post.

Don't complain, it's a win and we haven't seen many of those lately. The team came back and showed some character with a solid effort in the last two periods and finally won a game in which they didn't score first and they were down after two.

It's the start of something good.. two wins in a row, one blow out one character win. I'll take the two points.

Exactly. If Cheechoo doesn't give the puck away on the 1st Anaheim goal there is no comeback. And then the comeback is completed when Toslala trips over himself and lets in a weak one.
The Sharks would be a dangerous team if they were able to add a sniper or two.

I don't necessarily agree with that, you were dominated for about 38 minutes of the game. I'm annoyed because we can just turn it on, dominate a weaker team, but choose not to do so for 60 minutes.

Fedorov lead the team with shots on goal banged one off the post and made the defensive play that saved the game at the time with two minutes left.

Who knows?they need to play a full 60 minutes thats for sure.

They were standing in front of pucks willing to take the hits to prevent a goal they hung in there and as vishi said this is a character win if anything, instead of being grumpy we should be happy this team didn't pack it in when they could have done so.

San Jose dominated the first period and then went to sleep for most of the 2nd. IMO the bad goal at the end of the 2nd gave Anaheim the lift they needed. I doubt they would have done much in the 3rd if they had started the period down 2-0.
If Fedorov and Prospal approach last years performance then Anaheim is the stronger team. If not the teams are probably even.

Salei's lucky goal gives us the win, but we deserved the lucky bounce after working harder than them for the last two periods.

Very surprised Burnett and Parker decided not to fight this time. They lined up at the faceoff at least 2 times that I saw. I guess they just didn't feel like fighting.

Vishnevski had a great game.

San Jose is a lot better on the blueline than I thought...they have good speed at the forward position...the big problem they have is that no one can shoot the puck at all....they can get behind the defense but can't bury shots to save their life....we were very fortunate to get 2 points out of this game...

Puck barely grazed the line.. never really crossed.. if it went in, that would have been a sweet one. even if he did though, the refs didn't want to review it...
but Vish played hard.. i give him Big Ups..

Regarding Fedorov's non goal, the play continued for quite a while and Babcock delayed the ensuing faceoff to give the upstairs officials plenty of time to review it. It's reviewed automatically. I saw the replay several times; it didn't cross the line. And the refs usually wait for a thumbs up signal from the timekeepers box if there is a possibility of a call being changed.

Regarding the game, Wow! Talk about a tale of two teams. No shots in the first 10 minutes, and no hits in the entire first period I think. Sauer had a terrible game. Then the Ducks dominated the second in every category; shots, scoring chances, hits, faceoffs, etc., but still had nothing to show for it until Andy Mac turned into Mr. Clutch on a sweet lead pass by Lupul, and put it in the top far corner with a little over 10 seconds remaining.

If the Ducks can BEGIN a game with that intensity, they would have a far greater chance of being UP by two goals, instead of down by two. We'll see on Saturday.

Yes I know this. I believe I mentioned it in one of my posts. If they beat Michigan they probably will end up #1.

As for the game, my falling asleep was probably a good thing because it sounds like they dominated after the 1st period. Awesome comeback. Its a shame I missed it. :(
