SENSfreak_03 12-13-2003, 04:57 PM this has been boiling for quite sometime, and its really gettin on my dang nerves. this team has to SHOOT MORE. they give up prime shooting positions to pass off to some guy who is usualy covered, or they dipsie doodle to much, and lose the puck or get in to deep. then they go and talk about how they have to "score more"...well how bout trying shooting instead of dragging around someone. just shoot and go to the net. its amazing how well it works.
it wasnt the only reason we lost tonite (lalime, give aways, overall lack of effort at times,) but it didnt help. where is a sergei berezin when you need him, he doesnt pass for the world.
hopefully they can fix this before my head explodes

I see that you watched Havlat quite closesly tonght...;)
< my rant >
LALIME NEEDS TO GET OFF HIS KNEES...THE INSTANT HE SEES AN OPPOSING PLAYER CROSS THE BLUE LINE WITH THE PUCK HE DROP TO HIS KNEES LIKE A VIETNAMESE < I don't want to get banned >
< end rant >
You have to admit...the book is out on Lalime...if you have the puck alone near the blue ice...just wait...he'll fall down. Roloston had the post-it note on him tonight. The 2nd goal on Lalime was pure scouting...just wait and he'll give you 75% of the net by over committing and dropping to his knees...

Dropping to his knees? Christ! He was doing his best Bill Ranford, sliding on his side, pads stacked before the puck even got to Roloston!
Paging Phil Myre, paging Mr. Myre, emergency fundamentals of goaltending lesson needed at the Corel Centre STAT!

Knees? He was lying down on his side like he was on the Murray goal. That was such a pitiful performance. I've always liked Lalime but I think that this is as good as he gets. The scouting report on Lalime is go to his glove side. I don't agree with those who thought he had the potential to be a goalie for team Canada next year. No way.
Anyone know how long Prusek is out? I say start him for a couple of games when he gets back. I guess that Ottawa doesn't play until Dec 18th, and if Prusek isn't back by then my vote is to give Emery the start.
Finally, let the Iraqi people try Hussein. I say put him on the ice in net(without any equipment) and let Al MaCinnis and Sami Salo take 50 slapshots at him with the new sticks (for extra torque). Gotta get a hockey angle in here somehow! Whatever your position on the whole issue, Saddam was a criminal and murderer who deserves what he's got coming for him.

I read something interesting in the CP article on the game last night. The report said something such as "The Ottawa Senators watched a 2-1 lead slip away, only to lose to the Boston Bruins 3-2."
And I thought, there's something telling in that statement, "watched a 2-1 lead slip away."
That seemed to be exactly what they did. Watch. That third period, I don't even think they were in the game at all.
More like spectators.
BruinsGirl 12-15-2003, 04:20 PM His name is Rolston..not Roloston.
To be completely honest with you...B's were very motivated..They lost to Washington because of some verrrryyy questionable reffing!!! 5-6...They scored 2 goals in the last minute.
With all injures they did play out of their mind...Lalime was not a reason Sens lost. Sens are a great team, very talented and dangerous, but you don't leave Thornton 0ne-on-one with a goalie. Chances are 80%-90% he will score.
Anyway I was keeping my fingers crossed till the end of the game!!! My 10 years old nephew is a Sens fan and he almost cried.

Rols...Rolo...I like Rolo better. Rolos's are good, and sweet and make me feel happy inside.

Hmm rolo's.. though I wouldn't mind having a Rols either..

Since both the Stars and Sens (is there some curse with teams that start with the letter "S" this year?) are pretty much in the same boat (injuries, seeming lack of passionate play etc.) What is the prognosis for the Tipster?
Are trades coming or will it be coach first?
Ajacied 12-16-2003, 04:55 AM Are trades coming or will it be coach first?
Howbout both?
TexSen 12-16-2003, 02:20 PM Howbout both?
Ouch.
I head to the A.A. Center each year the Sens make their annual trip and can't for the life of me figure out why both teams are playing so sub-par this year compared to last.
Maybe the old "saving ourselves for the playoff" mentality?
Having worked for Hicks before I can't imagine this is sitting too well with him (especially given the Tex. Rangers situation with payroll there).
SensGod 12-16-2003, 07:40 PM I think that both teams read too many articles before the season started.
If you want my take. Tippet and Martin are safe (for now).
The players on BOTH these teams are floating. They are expecting that the opposing teams read the articles before the season started and are just going to fold in front of them considering that alot of sports writers were expecting a Dallas vs. Ottawa final.
I think that both of these teams need to get down, and re-discover what make them so succesful last season and stop whining about it.
And for the love of PETE! Get Modano to Shut up already. His comments to the media are making the whole thing worse for them down in the part of North America where they don't see natural ice.
