Aaron Vickers 12-13-2003, 06:25 PM There's guys on the club, like Hyphens, that already have nicknames. Lets try to give some of our other guys names to go by.
I'll get the ball started here.
Danny 'Healthy Scratch' Fritsche
gr88bd 12-14-2003, 04:50 AM Since the announcers on FSN refer to Fred Brathwaites "cat- like" reflexes about every other sentence heres a couple to run by the group:
Freddy "dead-cat" Brathwaite
or my personal favorite ... Fumblin' Freddy Brathwaite.
On defense theres the dirtiest playing player on the team : Spot-check on aisle 3.
And one for the new guy : Z-man

He took a shot there. Cracked his cup and destroyed one of his nuts. Hence "One-Nut"

Wonder how eager he is to drop down for a shot block now.
KallioWeHardlyKnewYe 12-16-2003, 03:56 PM Espen "Aaron Vickers" Knutsen -- he's leaving us for greener pastures.
Andre "Nielson 2.0" Nederost -- heralded youngin now leaving town pretty much as a failure. On the plus side, at least the guy's fully equiped south of the border, as far as anyone knows.
David "Socket Socker" Ling -- for busting Morris' eye socket last year.
"Streak" Sanderson -- when he's good, this could be a reference to his speed. when he's bad, its a reference to his frequent cold streaks.
Scott "Deceptively American" Lachance -- French-sounding name, you'd think he's Candaian, but born in Virginia, raised in USA. Also, last year, I think he was the only American on the roster.
cbjrocks 12-17-2003, 06:20 AM And oldie but a goodie...
When Odelein and Deron Quint were paired together...
"The Beer Line"
MephistoIV 12-17-2003, 11:38 AM Geoff "Circle" Sanderson

How about "twirly" :)
jackets63 12-17-2003, 12:22 PM Im not the type to be easily offended or anything, but I think the Neilson comments are in pretty poor taste.
Porn* 12-18-2003, 10:32 PM Nash- The Franchise lol
Zherdev- Runaway
Matt Foley* 12-19-2003, 03:17 AM Lasse "Go Home" Pirjeta.

Especially referring to it as a "funny story".

I'll follow John Kruk's example on the Best Damn Sports Show when Ron Tugnutt was a guest. He seemed to be able to laugh at himself whenever said Tug-nut.

Making fun of names - juvenile, but still in the general vicinity of "humor". I can understand that.
Making light of the loss of a testicle through a painful injury - what's funny about that? Do people call Berard "one eye"? Because it involves genitals you think it's amusing?
Neilsen's nickname should be "Lollypop" because he suckered so many of the CBJ faithful into thinking he was going to be good.

Good suggestion.

I don't know about everyone else here, but if I had lost a testicle through painful injury, I'm the type who probably would laugh about it. If it's gone, it's gone. No point in being sore about it. :p
But then again, I'm pretty much an ass, so........

I can relate. :)
KallioWeHardlyKnewYe 12-20-2003, 06:53 AM Andrew "Cassells made of Sand" because he melts into the sea -- eventually (i.e. this year).
