QcS 12-15-2003, 05:33 AM Just wondering if anybody heard of any rumors that are kicking around. I heard a rumour that Acadie would trade Russo and Gervais to Hull, but nothing of who Hull would send back. Also, that was before the injury to Gervais. logger444 12-15-2003, 07:25 AM I heard a rumour that Acadie would trade Russo and Gervais to Hull, but nothing of who Hull would send back. Also, that was before the injury to Gervais. Rumours said that Tremblay and Charron would head east in return; or Charron and a draft pick. :yo: PEli* 12-15-2003, 07:31 AM I heard Russo to PEI but nothing serious. Didn't management say that Gervais is staying where he is until he finishes his CHL career? plaugher 12-15-2003, 08:53 AM I heard Russo to PEI but nothing serious. Didn't management say that Gervais is staying where he is until he finishes his CHL career? Well... yes, but... Never put it past L-G-M to say one thing, and do something different. (Or any GM for that matter) Before Gervais' knee injury, he probably could have brought Bathurst a king's ransom. The return on trading Russo (20) and Gervais (next year pro) would have likely been too much to pass up, I reckon. But with the injury, maybe he will stick around in Bathurst after all. His value will definitely be diminished; the 3-5 week recovery time takes his return window past the trade deadline. Will be interesting to see what the offers for one of the best d-men on the market will be, considering he is damaged goods. QcS 12-15-2003, 09:28 AM Last year, Hull gambled on a situation like that and got a few players that were injured and coming back only at the end of the season.. and it really paid off in the playoffs. Who knows, they might try it again with Gervais, but they wouldn't pay as much for him as they would have had he not got injured. HfxMoose 12-18-2003, 04:10 AM Boutin will most likley be moved out of Halifax. LaLaLaprise 12-18-2003, 03:38 PM Boutin will most likley be moved out of Halifax. I am now hearing he wont be. LHJMQ MASTER 12-18-2003, 05:37 PM I am now hearing he wont be. That's what i heard to. I guess he's there number one. I know church has been playing great but boutin is the guy they want to take the number one spot and run with it. I also heard that the herd is getting a play from gat from the kent trade. Here's a question i would love for some one to answer, whats going to happen in cb when Stevee villeneuve goes back to the team. Is he going to stay your just have to keep his bags packed becasue hes going some where else to. LaLaLaprise 12-19-2003, 11:13 AM That's what i heard to. I guess he's there number one. Also about Boutin, i wouldnt say he is our #1 goalie, but we will go with 2 18 year olds for now. montreal 12-19-2003, 06:44 PM Cyr to Lewiston LHJMQ MASTER 12-19-2003, 07:06 PM Cyr to Lewiston Is This wishful thinking or reallity. I do think Cry would give the best returns for CB. Tonigth at the Halifax Bathurst game i seen a player that would be perfect for the eagles. Wantaluk. i think is how you spell his name he's the d man they need gives them a lot of grit on the blue line. And yes i read the paper today it said that both fleury and barinka migth be comeing to cb after the WJC's but we've been hearing for 2 years that barinka well be going to cb so beleave it as much as you want. And by the way the mooseheads anouced that they finalized the kent trade by getting as expected Yanick Charron, but they also got Lance Woodman. The moose sent back the 8th round pick and i guess there 1st ereo pick this year. Teemu 12-19-2003, 07:20 PM i just heard that Alexander Kojevnikov was traded to Quebec. can anyone back me up on this? "Left Wing Alexandre Kojevnikov is over in Russia preparing for the upcoming World Junior Hockey Tournament. His QMJHL team in Canada, Val-d'or reportedly traded him to Quebec on Friday night along with a 1st round pick in the 2004 CHL European draft for Vladimir Kutny and a 1st round pick in the 2005 CHL European draft. This trade is unconfirmed by the QMJHL at press time. " QcS 12-20-2003, 03:39 AM The moose sent back the 8th round pick and i guess there 1st ereo pick this year. which wasn't very good for them IMO. Charron and Woodman are average players at best, and the Moosehead's first euro pick this year is a potential #1 pick throughout the CHL. Charlie Henry (Gatineau) surely had a player in mind when he went after that pick :) LaLaLaprise 12-20-2003, 10:47 AM The moose sent back the 8th round pick and i guess there 1st ereo pick this year. which wasn't very good for them IMO. Charlie Henry (Gatineau) surely had a player in mind when he went after that pick :) 8th rd pick shouldnt even be looked at as part of the deal. The trade was: Kent and 1st euro for Woodman and Charron We get 2 17 year olds, Charron had almost 70 pts in MAAA last year. Woodman was picked 22nd overall this past summer. We get 2 guys with potential. Kent was a 20 year old so he wasnt needed, plus we have 2 18 year old euros so we didnt need the pick. This was a heads up deal as far as im concerned. montreal 12-20-2003, 12:19 PM Is This wishful thinking or reallity. I do think Cry would give the best returns for CB. RyanM 12-20-2003, 05:18 PM As far as I know it's a done deal. JF Cyr to Lewiston for Matt Davis According to who exactly? LHJMQ MASTER 12-20-2003, 10:38 PM the dumbest trade ever houle is doing great they don't need davis plus the fact that fleury migth be coming back no sence. Espically JF Cry he can bring back huge rewards or players if you must but you know what i mean. Afew teams out there could use a player like him like monton but they wouldn't get him being in the same divison and all. Rimoski he'd fit in with pretty good to i think. Daniel_Tkaczuk 12-21-2003, 10:08 AM It's possible that with the depth in Cape Breton some players are unhappy with the ice time they are recieving. Either J-F Cyr or Michael Tessier could fall into this category. With regards to Jonathan Boutin, I am thinking along the same lines as LAPRISE. Patenaude has said trading one of them would cause problems as far as having a reliable backup in Halifax. Having made this statement (whether it would be true or not is irrelevant) it leads me to believe he's leaning toward not trading them. Patenaude has said he would be active during the trading period though, and hopefully he's not done. If Patenaude is taking lower than market for him than he wont deal him. In other words, unless Halifax gets what they think Boutin is worth than he is staying a Moosehead. I doubt any team in the league is going to give Patenaude what he wants. Either J-F Cyr or Michael Tessier could fall into this category. The only person who can complain about ice time is Asselin, because he's on the "third line" but even that is centered by our 4th or 5th leading scorer Guillame Demers. What idiot would complain about getting top 2 line ice time on probably the best team in the CHL up to this points? If Cyr is traded it is because there are conditions on his trade from Halifax that could see Dixon end up in Halifax. So maybe in order to avoid that Vincent will ship him somewhere else, bt even then it probably will not happen. Charlie Henry (Gatineau) surely had a player in mind when he went after that pick :) I will guarantee that the Piques have an impact Euro in thier sights (as usual) .....which was the reason for this clever trade...Good thing too because I think it is important that they rebound from that Joey Ryan fiasco........which they may now have accomplished. Gatineau is easily one of the best run franchises in the CHL....... QcS 12-22-2003, 05:49 PM Gatineau is easily one of the best run franchises in the CHL....... and will remain one of the best run franchises as long as Charlie Henry is there :) 1985: Gretz buys the Hull Olympiques and names Charlie Henry as GM. They win their first QMJHL cup. 87-88, when Pat Burns is gone as coach, Alain Vigneault and the boys win their 2nd Q cup. 94-95, against all odds, they win a 3rd Q cup.. 96-97, they win the Q cup again, and the mem cup this time.. IN HULL.. Christian Bronsard (with Martin Biron sitting his sorry azz on the bench) wins the game by making great saves. Henry throughout the years, manages to find players out of nowhere and they help Hull always be competitive. In the Q, there are such teams as the Shawinigan Cataractes, who have been to the mem cup only once because it was in Shawinigan, they didn't even win the Q championship once even though they are the oldest franchise (35 years), and teams like the Drummondville Voltigeurs and the Victoriaville Tigres, who are never a threat. Henry finds guys like Pavel Rosa, Ales Hemsky, and Hull always has a chance (even if they get into the playoffs low seeded like in 98-99 when they were 15 games under .500 and got to the finals) and they are a threat. I love being a Hull fan :) Nicster65 12-22-2003, 07:37 PM and will remain one of the best run franchises as long as Charlie Henry is there :) 1985: Gretz buys the Hull Olympiques and names Charlie Henry as GM. Don't forget how often Hull seams to pluck players (gems) from Ontario that seam to get passed over...........most recently Francis Wathier..........and this year Nic Ranger.......... How good would those two guys look in a 67s uniform right now......??Geez. They know how to put a "Team" on the ice........ They look to me right now to have a very competitive team for the next few years....... .....(don't forget in 2005 they have 2 first round picks.)...tremendous assets....... QcS 12-23-2003, 03:58 AM and this year Nic Ranger.......... no kidding.. he was planning on only going to school this year and not even playing. :) The present GM André Chaput said that every year they invite a player from the area he's from (somewhere in Ontario, not too far from ottawa i think.. dunno).. and that they already had an idea of a player to invite next year. Nicolas has been a nice surprise.. he's small for a dman, and will never play in the NHL or be drafted, but he has a good offensive instinct and has helped the 'piques with depth at the position. He's now out with a broken jaw (after getting elbowed a few weeks back).. poor guy, no Xmas food, except through a straw LOL .....(don't forget in 2005 they have 2 first round picks.)...tremendous assets....... agreed.. although they might use some of those first rounders for help this year.. who knows. I'm a big fan.. i went to rimouski to see them earlier this year, and i'm going to Victoriaville on the 28th (in addition to seeing lots of their home games). :) Anfernic 12-23-2003, 05:39 AM I heard a rumor that Rimouski try to have Steve Bernier. Roussin Pouliot and Bernier was linemates from Atome to midget AAA It would be nice, considering the fact that Bernier would be back next year for our big season. I don't think it's going to happen because Moncton want to win this year and the price to pay for Rimouski would ben to high to get Bernier. The Oceanic will probably try to get a solide 20 forward or d-man without giving up too much. The big year is next year so they are not looking for the cup this year. Well I was way off last time, (just went off someone else's info) but I read that Rimouski got Aaron Johnson and a 7th '05 and the Remparts get Rimouski's 3rd in '05. And another one which makes no sense. Remparts get Mathieu Melason (Rollie Melason's son) and the 6th round '05 pick from the Sags for the Remparts 1st in '05. Don't know if it's true or not, just read it on one of the Q boards. And P-M Bouchard's rights were traded if true. Campino 01-06-2004, 01:53 PM The Moncton Wildcats coach wants to upgrade ther #1 center position, with a good face-off man, that can score goals and rack up points. ex:Hennessy QUE or Laplante AB. The want a top 4 defenseman. Either Douville or Wathier is on the trading block as they would like to improve a 20 year old spot. The GM for the wildcats doesn`t seem to care and it doesn`t matter if a deal happens or not. They tried to get Fournier from Vic but that didn`t happen. He isn't will to give away the younger players. The head coach, Christain Larue already adressed that some trades need to be made or we won`t be able to compete against teams like Gatineau and Cape Breton. He wants a couple big trades to be made before the trading period is over. Moncton has been building up for this season ever since the end of the 1999-00 season, I think the people in Moncton finally deserve a championship contending team. The only way to do that is to improve some positions. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th line are fine. But we need a #1 faceoff guy that can score. Here is the roster now: Forwards Betournay/ Gagne/ Bernier Zakharov/ Graham/ Karsums Pelham/ Glode/ Salvis Hamel/ Doucette/ Gaudet spare: Mazerolle, Hepditch, Ouimet Defense: Sanford/ Saunders Wathier/ Caron Douville/ Desruisseaux Goalie: Crawford Papaiolinou (spelling big time) I think we would put betournay on the 3rd line as a 2way checking line, and put Gagne at wing, thats if a #1 center was brought in. Then move Pelham on 4th line and bump out Gaudet. That would make moncton have the most depth outa any team, they could role the 4 lines if they wanted. The defense looks good. The goaltending is perfect. What do you guys think Moncton need to improve on to be a championship team this year? what are the strengths and weaknesses? Duff88 01-07-2004, 05:12 PM And another one which makes no sense. Remparts get Mathieu Melason (Rollie Melason's son) and the 6th round '05 pick from the Sags for the Remparts 1st in '05. LHJMQ MASTER 01-08-2004, 05:33 PM Rumor that a blockbuster between Halifax and RN is going down. Not sure on the players that would be traded but i would think that Upshall migth go there cause Scandle going to eroupe opens up a 20 spot. But who knows. | ||
