Fired from the Hurricanes earlier today. Maybe he could turn this team around?

I think his style would cause some conflict with GMDM, but he has been to the promised land (Stanley Cup Finals)

Any thoughts

Maurice is a good, young coach who I think won't be unemployed for too long. He has a lot of experience for a guy his age (38, 39? :dunno: ). However, DM thinks of himself as the best man to coach the Jackets at this point in the franchise's development, so I think him hiring Maurice is highly unlikely.

I dont know that hes been overly successful other than that one Cup year. I think there are better fits out there. Such as Larry Robinson.

Success = Job Security. Period.
No one is safe in this league. (hint, Doug, hint....)

For what its worth, Maurice would not be a bad pickup. A lot of what failed here in the last 18 months wasnt due to him. Great character guy and good at building strengths. Robinson isn't going to be easy to get - especially with CBA looming.
