Varada update:
Senators coach Jacques Martin said yesterday winger Vaclav Varada sustained a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee in Saturday night's loss to the B's and has been lost for an as-yet-to-be-determined period.
If you were a betting person, the over-under would likely be three weeks, more bad news for a team that has had its share of it both on and off the ice.
Schastlivy in on thursday for sure:
With Varada out, winger Petr Schastlivy, a healthy scratch for the last seven games (10 overall this season) will draw back in on a line with Radek Bonk at centre and Martin Havlat on the right side when the Senators host the Blackhawks on Thursday night.
This should be interesting. Schastlivy-Bonk-Havlat. I really hope that Petr can get something going here soon.
Luckily, Pothier's concussion isn't very bad...this is what Jacques said about it:
"It's just a matter of seeing how quickly he responds," said Martin. "He's day-to-day and shouldn't be out for an extended period of time."
Oh oh...goalie issues:
Senators G Patrick Lalime did not practise yesterday because of a relapse of the flu, said Martin. G Martin Prusek, who has been out with back spasms, did practise yesterday. It remains to be seen if he will be available for Thursday night ...
:handclap:
EMERY TO START! God I hope so...
