Emery to start vs Chicago - Team 1200

Earlier today the Team 1200 announced that Emery will get the start tomorrow night vs the Blackhawks. Lalime is still trying to recover from the after affects of the flu he's had.

It'll be interesting to see how Emery fares against one of the worst teams in the league. This is the first game in a stretch of games that Ottawa should be able to string together a bunch of wins. Of these games, their toughest opponent will likely be Atlanta. If they can't get 8 out of 12 points during this period (a .666 pts %) then this team is in serious trouble - if you don't already think so.

Also will be interesting to compare him at the NHL level against another young goalie in Leighton (assuming he gets the start).

The last desperate effort, before a major change in Ottawa???

Whatever. Good Luck Ray! :)

Maybe Lalime and Prusek will be asked to take all the time they need to overcome their various ills so that Mucks and Martin can get a really good look at how his development is progressing.

Could go a long way to deciding what happens around the trade deadline (i.e. Prusek possibly being dealt) for the team and whether maybe Emery doesn't stick around for a playoff run.

Doubtful. Prusek and Lalime are both not yet fully healed, the Hawks stink and Emery is a talented young goalie. Seems like the perfect opportunity to play him. Maybe news of his start will fill the other 3000 seats available. :D

While a change may be coming (and I want to see something) I don't think it has any relationship with Emery's start.

I love Spezza's quote about how Emery brings that added toughness and fire that they were worried they might miss with Varada out!
