Pestunov is more of a two way, checking centericeman. If he scores three i'll be somewhat surprised. He reminds me of Chubarov somewhat. I don't remember too many positive results for Slovakia against Russia. No reason to change now.6-1 is about right.

Being the opening afternoon of the tournament, I would be patient. The IIHF will have the stats very soon....and they will get better as the tournament goes along. The people running the live updates are using a different system than they did last year, so they have to get used to it.

In previous years,the game scoring,line-ups and rosters were all on one window.Now they have four separate windows.The Russia-Slovakia game was almost over and they had not updated the scoring since the second period.

There are some programming issues.... the 'Live' link has up to date scoring and penalties, but the 'Summary' link hasn't updated since the 2nd period.

Ovechkin had a lot of chances ! Shkotov missed the open net in the 2nd i think ......... Russia outshoot the Slovaks so i think it was a bad day for Barulin.

Semin being on the 4th line is absolute BS! The Caps sent him over there because he needed some ice time (which he wasn't getting under that moron Cassidy, but would likely be getting now with the more uptempo, youngster friendly game Hanlon is playing) and this is what happens!? I don't get it. He's floated around in a couple games with the Caps but thats nothing outta the ordinary for a 19 year old....especially one just over here, but certainly never showed to be anything close to a selfish showoff. Maybe all the drama with Ishmatov has taken a toll on his attitude with this team, or he's still suffering shell-shock from Cassidy's ridiculous antics. I really don't know but he certainly didn't show any signs of being any kind of malcontent with the Caps.

Maybe he just thought he'd be able to dominate, or wanted to live up to his hype coming into the tourney. I dunno....this is really confusing to me.

Though saying playing on the 4th line is no different than playing with talents like Ovechkin and Malkin is a bit naive.

So just because he is an NHL player, he should be allowed to break team rules?

If Semin is not committed to being a team player, then he should be riding the pine. This tournament is not about players showcasing themselves...especially if said player wanting to showcase himself is already in the NHL. Semin is in Finland to help Russia win. If he wants to be an individual, that is his problem, and the coach doesn't have to deal with that.
