OurGocIsAnAwesomeGoc 12-25-2003, 03:22 PM so, forgive me for beating a dead horse, but is the game on center ice, tomorrow? Duff88 12-25-2003, 03:35 PM Not the big beating that they wanted, but USA will win this one I'll do a big prediction : USA will win it 5-1 Austria will score the first goal Murray will get two assists Vanek won't get any points CSKA 12-25-2003, 03:52 PM :joker: WTF is that :joker: 8:1 USA............... canucksfan 12-25-2003, 06:15 PM USA 9 Austria 1 Rabid Ranger 12-25-2003, 06:19 PM I think the U.S. will have learned from it's game against Finland, and respond with a pretty convincing win. I'll say 7-1 victory for the U.S. with a hat-trick by O'Sullivan. Vanek will get the lone Austrian goal. rtafts 12-25-2003, 07:21 PM 6-1 Usa. leafaholix* 12-25-2003, 07:22 PM USA - 6 Austria - 2 Brock 12-25-2003, 07:45 PM 10-1 for USA leafaholix* 12-25-2003, 08:07 PM 10-1 for USA Seriously? Zine 12-25-2003, 10:45 PM Is that Setzinger guy from Austria still eligible for this tourney? He and Vanek together would be lethal. OurGocIsAnAwesomeGoc 12-25-2003, 10:47 PM Is that Setzinger guy from Austria still eligible for this tourney? He and Vanek together would be lethal. he should be, but i don't think the Pelicans would release him, as he and fellow Preds prospect Daniel Widing are basically responsible for what little offense the team puts up. Fan.At 12-25-2003, 11:44 PM he should be, but i don't think the Pelicans would release him, as he and fellow Preds prospect Daniel Widing are basically responsible for what little offense the team puts up. Setzinger is 83 - not eligible anymore. AND he is no longer with Pelicans Lahti. He had troubles with his coach and plays now for a finish second league team. Brock 12-26-2003, 04:52 AM Seriously? I think the Americans have possibly the best offense at the tournament, not to mention that they are both fast and physical which will prove to be one giant problem for the Austrians IMO. KillToronto 12-26-2003, 05:43 AM 5-0 Usa The Austrian 12-26-2003, 06:53 AM 2:0 USA after 8 mins... dam.... Rabid Ranger 12-26-2003, 06:54 AM Does anyone know how to get the audiocast at usahockey.com to work? dragonwyck 12-26-2003, 06:59 AM I just clicked the link on the main page and it popped up a window with the feed in the page and it started up automatically. My guess is that you either have a pop up blocker preventing that page from coming up or you need to update Windows Media Player. The Austrian 12-26-2003, 07:06 AM i also can listen to the game without probs... G-Double 12-26-2003, 07:30 AM Sounds like O'Sullivan took a bit of a bad penalty there while on the PP.. The Austrian 12-26-2003, 07:34 AM and now we have a real powerplay. i hope that we can make the 2:1 now.. The Austrian 12-26-2003, 07:35 AM PP over. :( G-Double 12-26-2003, 07:40 AM Team USA scores 2 within :16 of each other... 4-0 Wiz, Sterling, Parise and O'Sullivan scoring, Austria counters with a good chance but can't finish.. USA lines seem to be... Werner-Parise-Murray Eaves-O'Sullivan-Kesler Sterling-Fritsche-Moore Dowell-Stafford-Booth did Vanek just shoot it "Through the net"? we'll see at the whistle... The Austrian 12-26-2003, 07:41 AM 2 pp goals for USA gives them a 4:0 lead.... dam.. the austrians got TO MANY MAN ON THE ICE when both teams play with 4 players.... G-Double 12-26-2003, 07:44 AM USA is taking more penalties than i would like to see/hear...they will need to calm down as the tourney goes on or more skilled teams (no disrespect to Austria) are going to have a field-day on the PP.... Eaves gets a Shorty off his own rebound, i think he has 2-3 pts today...not positive though... The Austrian 12-26-2003, 07:46 AM another goal for USA - SHORTHANDED ! austria has a couple of good chances, but ist not able to make a goal... mcarrick16 12-26-2003, 08:12 AM how are O'sullivan,Eaves,Murray playing on this game? Teemu 12-26-2003, 08:20 AM Go James! (Wisniewski) Rabid Ranger 12-26-2003, 08:29 AM 7-0 now. ratsgirl 12-26-2003, 08:36 AM 8-0 and a hattrick for Parise! :D kacz 12-26-2003, 08:41 AM Come on USA! Score 1 more so that Ukraine won't be last! canucksfan 12-26-2003, 08:49 AM How did Kesler do? Fan.At 12-26-2003, 08:50 AM 8-0 final result. Eaves for Team USA and Patrick Harand for Team Austria were voted best players of the game. Austrians are just not used to play on that level..., but I think Matthias Lange had a good game in goal for Austria. punchy1 12-26-2003, 09:23 AM Where do you find a breakdown of the scoring? i have been looking everywhere and all I see are bits of info. If anyone can post a link to a page that shows the actual scoring that would be great. Cheers. Predatore 12-26-2003, 09:24 AM how about the official site of the tournament punchy? :) here you go http://www.iihf.com/hydra/tournaments/output/LIVE/hydra.iihf.com/Web_Output/P_Web_Livebe30.html?compId=6&gameId=34 punchy1 12-26-2003, 09:29 AM Cheers mate! Brilliant. Nice to see that there are always someone around to help is less mentally gifted. Cheers mate! punchy1 12-26-2003, 09:31 AM After that, did Brady Murray play? I noticed his name didn't show up at all but his line mates scored the majority of the points. Just curious. NYIschremp44 12-26-2003, 09:31 AM Cheers mate! Brilliant. Nice to see that there are always someone around to help is less mentally gifted. Cheers mate! would have been 12-0 if rob was on the team! :) hahah just joking G-Double 12-26-2003, 10:20 AM not good to see the USA take 9 penalties against a team like Austria...maybe underestimation is to blame but they did the same thing against the Finns... Flonaldo 12-26-2003, 10:40 AM I'll have a brief recap for you later @ Jatkoaika. Rabid Ranger 12-26-2003, 10:41 AM not good to see the USA take 9 penalties against a team like Austria...maybe underestimation is to blame but they did the same thing against the Finns... Yeah, the U.S. team HAS to get a handle on their undisciplined play. Austria's one thing, Russia, or even Slovakia is quite the other. Nice to see them kill the PP's off though, and Montoya got the shutout, so that's something to build on. Also, the U.S. offense was as advertised. Rabid Ranger 12-26-2003, 10:53 AM Here's a link to the pertinant info: http://www.iihf.com/hydra/tournaments/output/LIVE/hydra.iihf.com/data_0104/iihf/output/xml/6/IHM006A04_74_4_0.html The Austrian goalie must have stood on his head. The U.S. had 61 SOG. Chew on that Kevin Lowe. I can't believe you threw this guy away.. Not that I don't like Pouliot and the 2nd round pick (name escapes me), but Parise is such a stud. Bluenote13 12-26-2003, 12:30 PM Parise with a 4 point night. Chew on that Kevin Lowe. I can't believe you threw this guy away.. Not that I don't like Pouliot and the 2nd round pick (name escapes me), but Parise is such a stud. Don't get me wrong, i'm on the bandwagon too, but lets wait and see how many points he puts up against some of the favorites in this tournament before we go rubbing it into GM's faces :p punchy1 12-26-2003, 02:16 PM Thanks for the links mates. Blatny Spears 12-26-2003, 10:58 PM Don't get me wrong, i'm on the bandwagon too, but lets wait and see how many points he puts up against some of the favorites in this tournament before we go rubbing it into GM's faces :p Or see how many points he puts up in the NHL for that matter ... Fan.At 12-27-2003, 01:17 AM Judging from game recaps, there are 2 positive points for Austria. The first one is obviously Mathias Lange. The second one is Andreas Nödl, a 1987 born player. He is going to be a hell of a player one day. chuckie 12-27-2003, 09:30 AM How did montoya look ? did he stand on his head or was it the type of game were he wasn't tested much? thanks for the input punchy1 12-27-2003, 12:12 PM Did anyone else notice that in this category that it has the score listed as 0-8 with the US listed as second in the team names? I mean, it isn't "Finland vs Canada" (0-3) They have it as Austria (the losing team) vs USA (0-8). All of the other teams and wins are listed in the winner first order. Is it a conspiracy? Blatny Spears 12-27-2003, 12:44 PM No conspiracy. The 'visiting' team has won every game except for the U.S./Austria match. You can see the U.S. will be the 'visitors' in their game Sunday against Slovakia. Their score will be listed first in the box score regardless of who wins - it's the international way. Every team plays four games in group play and gets to be 'home' twice and 'visitor' twice. | ||
