I think the U.S. will have learned from it's game against Finland, and respond with a pretty convincing win. I'll say 7-1 victory for the U.S. with a hat-trick by O'Sullivan. Vanek will get the lone Austrian goal.

he should be, but i don't think the Pelicans would release him, as he and fellow Preds prospect Daniel Widing are basically responsible for what little offense the team puts up.

Setzinger is 83 - not eligible anymore. AND he is no longer with Pelicans Lahti. He had troubles with his coach and plays now for a finish second league team.

I think the Americans have possibly the best offense at the tournament, not to mention that they are both fast and physical which will prove to be one giant problem for the Austrians IMO.

I just clicked the link on the main page and it popped up a window with the feed in the page and it started up automatically. My guess is that you either have a pop up blocker preventing that page from coming up or you need to update Windows Media Player.

8-0 final result. Eaves for Team USA and Patrick Harand for Team Austria were voted best players of the game.

Austrians are just not used to play on that level..., but I think Matthias Lange had a good game in goal for Austria.

Where do you find a breakdown of the scoring? i have been looking everywhere and all I see are bits of info. If anyone can post a link to a page that shows the actual scoring that would be great.

Yeah, the U.S. team HAS to get a handle on their undisciplined play. Austria's one thing, Russia, or even Slovakia is quite the other. Nice to see them kill the PP's off though, and Montoya got the shutout, so that's something to build on. Also, the U.S. offense was as advertised.

Don't get me wrong, i'm on the bandwagon too, but lets wait and see how many points he puts up against some of the favorites in this tournament before we go rubbing it into GM's faces :p

Judging from game recaps, there are 2 positive points for Austria. The first one is obviously Mathias Lange. The second one is Andreas Nödl, a 1987 born player. He is going to be a hell of a player one day.

They have it as Austria (the losing team) vs USA (0-8).

No conspiracy. The 'visiting' team has won every game except for the U.S./Austria match. You can see the U.S. will be the 'visitors' in their game Sunday against Slovakia. Their score will be listed first in the box score regardless of who wins - it's the international way. Every team plays four games in group play and gets to be 'home' twice and 'visitor' twice.
