However, although Sweden is not expected to contend, I don't think Austria has the firepower (even with Vanek) to play on even par with anybody but Ukraine. For this particular game, my opinions are the same as the SUI vs. UKR game. Austria just got killed yesterday, and are playing a team who hasn't yet stepped on the ice. The Austrians are going to be in a bad mood, and they could make it a reasonably close game....but in the end, a Swedish victory should be the end result. Predatore 12-27-2003, 04:32 AM 1-0 Sweden. Power forward Patric Blomdahl scores Sweden's first goal in this tournament - assisted by Johan Andersson (Chicago) and Nicklas Eckerblom (Minnesota) This game seems to be tighter than yesterday's against Team USA. Austria is taking a lot of penalties. Do you have it live on TV? Predatore 12-27-2003, 04:43 AM unfortunately no :( If someone else has (Austrian fans I guess, since the tournament isn't broadcasted in Sweden) fill us in! :) Riddarn 12-27-2003, 04:46 AM Man IIHF's new online-thingy really blows. Why do you change something that works? :madfire: Fan.At 12-27-2003, 04:48 AM unfortunately no :( If someone else has (Austrian fans I guess, since the tournament isn't broadcasted in Sweden) fill us in! :) Nothing in Austria. Predatore 12-27-2003, 05:03 AM Sweden outshot Austria 19-2 in the first, still the same problem.. they can't finish it :( Fan.At 12-27-2003, 05:05 AM Sweden outshot Austria 19-2 in the first, still the same problem.. they can't finish it :( Lange is hot after yesterdays game :D The Austrian 12-27-2003, 05:06 AM Nothing in Austria. thjat would have been the greates suprise in austrian history. the austrian tv not even shows every game of the BIG GUYS, i was sure that we won´t see pictures of our u20 team. Riddarn 12-27-2003, 05:27 AM I wonder if Kalgoum could be the next Niklas Falk? ;) Predatore 12-27-2003, 05:28 AM Does not seem unlikely, they are pretty similar as players :) Wouldn't surprise me if Djurgården will look to sign Kalgoum, they have been monitoring prospects in the second tier league and from the Stockholm area quite closely it seems. The Austrian 12-27-2003, 05:32 AM does anyone know the "shoot-count" in the second period ? Predatore 12-27-2003, 05:35 AM 12 - 9 Sweden, so that makes it 31 - 11 total The Austrian 12-27-2003, 05:39 AM thanks. which live ticker do you use ? the LT from the IIHF page is really poor... Predatore 12-27-2003, 05:41 AM I use IIHF, and yes.. it is really poor. I wish they hadn't changed it from the one they used last year (which btw I believe was a Swedish product /stats service :)) Riddarn 12-27-2003, 05:43 AM Wouldn't surprise me if Djurgården will look to sign Kalgoum, they have been monitoring prospects in the second tier league and from the Stockholm area quite closely it seems. Yep they have, I wish they could pick up som defenders.. ;) Looks like we have a hard time to score on Austria. Not totally unexpected.. Totamomasos 12-27-2003, 05:43 AM Go Sweden, Go Salmonsson! Riddarn 12-27-2003, 06:36 AM I must say I didn't think this team could score this many goals against any team in this tournament. Well done! The Austrian 12-27-2003, 06:38 AM man, nealry 100 shoots in two games. Predatore 12-27-2003, 08:19 AM A report of someone who actually saw the game would be interesting... I just read a report with the Swedish staff over there and here are some comments on some of the Swedish players. Johan Fransson (started out on the bench actually, but when he came in he played well and scored two goals) Alexander Steen (was good, scored a goal and actually hit the post 3(!) times in this game) Joakim Lundström (good in net, not having an easy game since he did not face that many shots) Johannes Salmonsson (was very, very good, showed that he is a brilliant hockey player) this all according to Sweden's team manager Peter Forsberg. Flonaldo 12-27-2003, 10:02 AM btw, Andreas Valdix was rested after an injury three days ago. Bendelin thought that he would be able to play tomorrow - so just a precaution. Blomdahl left midway through the third period, don't know more about that one. Fedz 12-27-2003, 11:47 PM I saw that Danielsson scored a goal, and assisted on another, did he play as well as it may seem? | ||
