Dr_Chimera* 12-27-2003, 05:15 PM Watch Halak just stone the US. 3-1 Slovaks. Rabid Ranger 12-27-2003, 05:18 PM Watch Halak just stone the US. 3-1 Slovaks. That's certainly a possibility. My main concern however isn't the U.S. scoring, but staying disciplined and not taking an excessive amount of penalities. If the U.S. can avoid that, and capitalize on what I believe will be an ample number of chances I think they will pull out a comfortable victory. Bill McNeal 12-27-2003, 05:23 PM 3-1 US with the last goal being an empty netter. Halak will keep the Slovaks in it but the US will outplay them. Douggy 12-27-2003, 05:35 PM 4-3 USA. Lets hope this one doesn't end in a tie, and so that Russia has less of a chance of winning the pool. :D chicpea* 12-27-2003, 05:43 PM This is going to sound simply bananas, but Slovakia 5-2. I say they score first and they score last and both, as hinted at above, will be on the pp - the US has shown no signs of settling down, and it's going to cost them sooner or later. Why not tomorrow morning? Of course, I could be completely wrong. canucksfan 12-27-2003, 05:48 PM USA 6-2 L3DZ3P 12-27-2003, 06:08 PM 4-2 Slovakia. I'm recording the game (audio) and will upload it after the game if anyone misses it. I plan to do that for all the USA games. I did the Austria game, but the audio didn't come out well, and plus, it was 8-0 :) JF Omalycat 12-28-2003, 04:16 AM Currently 2-0 USA.... Slovakia seems to be playing physical, but to no avail....yet. Rabid Ranger 12-28-2003, 04:51 AM Currently 4-0 USA. Last two goals by Murray and Kesler. Phil333 12-28-2003, 04:52 AM 4-0. Very very nice./ Stuy 12-28-2003, 04:55 AM Who has the other 2 goals? Rabid Ranger 12-28-2003, 04:56 AM 5-0 now. Werner with the goal. Rabid Ranger 12-28-2003, 04:58 AM Who has the other 2 goals? I know Parise has one. Phil333 12-28-2003, 05:00 AM Kesler is hurt. cagney 12-28-2003, 05:03 AM I believe the US goals are by Booth, Parise, Murray, Kesler, and Werner in that order. Kesler got bloodied up by a high stick. Stuy 12-28-2003, 05:05 AM I believe the US goals are by Booth, Parise, Murray, Kesler, and Werner in that order. Kesler got bloodied up by a high stick. Thanks. Rabid Ranger 12-28-2003, 05:13 AM Sounds like Slovakia is trying to goon it up. JF Omalycat 12-28-2003, 05:15 AM Sounds like things are getting chippy..... :) Rabid Ranger 12-28-2003, 05:15 AM Dowell just blew some chump up. Rabid Ranger 12-28-2003, 05:16 AM It's over. 5-0 final. Montoya made 18 saves for the shutout. Parise named the player of the game for the U.S. Two more points today, giving him six so far in the tourney. Phil333 12-28-2003, 05:16 AM Sounds like an awesome hit. Did you hear the announcer say how it might be interesting at dinner cause they are at the same hotel. LOL Game is over. Montoya - 18 saves. Parise gets player of the game. JF Omalycat 12-28-2003, 05:18 AM Boy, I sure wish I could have watched this one. Enoch 12-28-2003, 05:21 AM Its too bad we can't see these games aired :(. Parise continues to play good hockey! Rabid Ranger 12-28-2003, 05:23 AM U.S. MUCH more disciplined in this game. Gave up only three power plays. I hope this trend continues. Phil333 12-28-2003, 05:23 AM The Devils are really lucky to have his rights - he could be a great player in the NHL. Belgian Fan 12-28-2003, 05:23 AM Two straight SO's! Even though he's not been playing against any powerhouses, this will certainly help Montoya's confidence, and that can never be a bad thing... NJ_Devil_Boy 12-28-2003, 05:36 AM The Devils are really lucky to have his rights - he could be a great player in the NHL. It's looking better and better every day. Parise  The guy who traded up to get him (Lou). Rob 12-28-2003, 05:54 AM This was a big win for the US. Slovakia is a good club. I think the team has proven that they are the real deal. At the very least they should come away with a medal from the tournament. Would it be the first since '97? Enoch 12-28-2003, 06:53 AM Two straight SO's! Even though he's not been playing against any powerhouses, this will certainly help Montoya's confidence, and that can never be a bad thing... Exactly what I was thinking. I wonder who is going to draft this kid and how high. Slats432 12-28-2003, 08:23 AM It's looking better and better every day. Parise  The guy who traded up to get him (Lou). I put it on record on draft day that the Oilers would regret that decision. I have no doubt that Parise will be >>>>>>Pouliot. Oh well. L3DZ3P 12-28-2003, 08:31 AM I put it on record on draft day that the Oilers would regret that decision. I have no doubt that Parise will be >>>>>>Pouliot. Oh well. Dont think so, Pouliot is a heck of player with great a vision and a great hockey sense as well.He just didnt had the chance to prove it( damn injury). Flonaldo 12-28-2003, 11:05 AM No english recap today, sorry. I have a bunch of pictures for you though: http://www.jatkoaika.com/w20_2004.php?sivu=kolumnit&id=1711 Team_Spirit 12-28-2003, 12:12 PM I put it on record on draft day that the Oilers would regret that decision. I have no doubt that Parise will be >>>>>>Pouliot. Oh well. At the 2002 draft we traded up to with the Oilers to grab Chris Higgins , ans i'm pettry confident he'll be better than Jesse Niinimaki . 2 decision the Oil's will regret . That's said i wonder if they would had picked these guy with the pick . punchy1 12-29-2003, 09:33 AM Murray having a good tourney as well. It looks like he *can* compete at this level. Slats432 12-29-2003, 09:37 AM Dont think so, Pouliot is a heck of player with great a vision and a great hockey sense as well.He just didnt had the chance to prove it( damn injury). The way I see it is different though. The Oilers traded down to 22 from 17 because they were convinced that no one wanted "their" guy. Sure they picked up the extra pick, but Parise was the guy...he kept sliding and sliding...(And forget Maguire, he was the guy that I wanted to see the Oilers pick before the draft.) As an Oiler fan, I would love to see Pouliot turn out...and having seen him play and seeing Parise play, I am still pretty confident that NJ has the better player. | ||
