WJC Group A: Dec 28 GDT - USA vs. Slovakia (5-0)

I think USA will win this one quite comfortably despite Slovakia's great play in the game against Russia.

Prediction:
5-2 USA

4-3 Usa

A much stiffer test than Austria, but I still think the U.S. will pull out a victory. I say 4-2.

That's certainly a possibility. My main concern however isn't the U.S. scoring, but staying disciplined and not taking an excessive amount of penalities. If the U.S. can avoid that, and capitalize on what I believe will be an ample number of chances I think they will pull out a comfortable victory.

3-1 US with the last goal being an empty netter. Halak will keep the Slovaks in it but the US will outplay them.

4-3 USA. Lets hope this one doesn't end in a tie, and so that Russia has less of a chance of winning the pool. :D

This is going to sound simply bananas, but Slovakia 5-2. I say they score first and they score last and both, as hinted at above, will be on the pp - the US has shown no signs of settling down, and it's going to cost them sooner or later. Why not tomorrow morning?

USAHockey on their radio link had this game at 9, luckily I checked at 8, and the game is just about to start. I'm recording the game (audio) and will upload it after the game if anyone misses it. I plan to do that for all the USA games. I did the Austria game, but the audio didn't come out well, and plus, it was 8-0 :)

U.S. MUCH more disciplined in this game. Gave up only three power plays. I hope this trend continues.

This was a big win for the US. Slovakia is a good club. I think the team has proven that they are the real deal. At the very least they should come away with a medal from the tournament.

At the 2002 draft we traded up to with the Oilers to grab Chris Higgins , ans i'm pettry confident he'll be better than Jesse Niinimaki .

The way I see it is different though. The Oilers traded down to 22 from 17 because they were convinced that no one wanted "their" guy. Sure they picked up the extra pick, but Parise was the guy...he kept sliding and sliding...(And forget Maguire, he was the guy that I wanted to see the Oilers pick before the draft.)

As an Oiler fan, I would love to see Pouliot turn out...and having seen him play and seeing Parise play, I am still pretty confident that NJ has the better player.
