No surprise, the Sharks willl always be a western team that some poeple (like say- ** ESPN **) will ignore. Untill the Sharks win the Stanley Cup people will try to ignore them. Also The Devils shouldn't be #1 it should be Pilly, or Toronto.

That is a sad list. There is no way the Wild, Rangers or Islanders belong in the top 15.
I agree with 1cheech4 that Toronto or Philadelphia should be #1. Toronto plays through injuries loses one in their last 16, and ranked 9th .
My top 15
5. New Jersey
6. St Louis
8. San Jose
11. Los Angeles
15. Tampa Bay

"8. San Jose" ?
Well, I'm all for optimism, but that might be pushing it a little :(
p.s. TSN says we have no key injuries but i bet they might consider Michalek one if people got to see how good he was/is.
Eh, maybe im being too optimistic now :(

Michalek was a big injurey I think, he was one of are best players in the pre season, as well as vs Edmonton. I didnt see the game vs the Flames. I think he well find him self getting about 20 minutes or so a game much like Boyes and Goc are in the AHL when he returns.

On SI's power ranking the Sharks are 13th, which imho, is being a serious optimist.
SJ should be in the top 16, but somewhere areound 14/15/16. Toronto should be #1, they are playing amazing hockey. nolan is playing his game up there, so is Roberts and Sundin and Joe N. and Antropov.
Glad to see them having some success. Colorado and Detroit and New Jersey and Philly should round out the top 5, chose your order...
If san jose can continue playing +.500 hockey through January, we'll see things shake out a bit. The West is so tight right now...
btw, i hate power rankings, but I love reading them.
