The biggest B Junior tournament started today in Mora as usual.

AIK vs Timrå 4-0
Leksand vs Djurgården 1-2
MIF vs MODO 2-0
Huddinge vs Frölunda 0-3(after one period)

Note that this tournament is only played for 2x20 expect for the finals which is played 3x20.

I was very surprised that MODO lost but on the other hand Oscar Hedman, Andreas Selin, Niklas Öhman, Andreas Molinder, Johan Dahlberg and Johan Nilsson didnt play.

Before the tournament I had MODO as favorites but now the team could have problem to even reach the semifinals.

You can follow the tournament online at http://www.morahockey.se/FMM-Cup/index_fmm.htm

I believe Joakim Lindström has the point record when he scored amazing 18 points three years ago back in 2001. In those 6 games MODO scored 28 goals which means that Joakim was involved in more then 60% of the teams goals. After this tournament MODOs SEL coach Per Bäckman did invite Joakim to the SEL roster and he has been there ever since, he scored in one of his first games and everyone thought he would became a superstar. Now I just dont know...

MODO is back in the race for the semis after winning over HV71 today with 4-2 after HV had a 2-0 lead after the 1st period.

Jesper Andersson scored twice, Tommy Enström had 1+1 and defensive defenceman Gary Lundsten had one goal. 34-11 in shoots

MODO vs Frölunda in the finals?

Modo - Frölunda in the finals sounds about right :)
Roster wise, since Frölunda aren't playing that many of their 86's, MoDo looks stronger IMO.

Remeber that MODO are missing Oscar Hedman, Andreas Selin, Niklas Öhman, Andreas Molinder, Johan Dahlberg and Johan Nilsson. I was also surprised that Timmy Nyberg and Björn Lindholm isnt playing. MODO needs to win the two remaining games to qualify for the semis.

Richard Dahllöf was voted to the all star team last year, so far this year he hasnt scored a point yet.

MODO, AIK, Mora and Västra Frölunda are the four teams who will play the playoffs tomorrow.

It looks like it will be AIK vs Mora and MODO vs Frölunda.

Frölundas defenceman Jonathan Svensson is the scoring leader among defenceman with 7 points in four games. MODOs defenceman Gary Lundsten(One of rivercanyons favs) has impressed and has 4 points in as many games.

Note that MODOs big prospect Mattias Hellström still has problem to score this year. Only one point so far. His line mate Tommy Enström has four.

Todays game between Mora and Leksand had a crowd of 1700!

MODO vs AIk in the bronze game and Mora vs Frölunda in the final game. Note that Jesper Andersson scored another goal in the semis and I believe his position in next ranking for the NHL Entry Draft is better then in december.

Gudmundsson and Axelsson are tearing up this tournament it seems.
