On average how much do players make in the DEL?

Hard to say as salary figures aren't released like in the NHL.

The small market teams spend somewhere around 2.5 to 3 million Euro on their rosters, while the bigger ones can get up to 6 million Euro.

Depends on the kind of player and the team. I'd say salaries begin at around 35k for back-up goalies or 4th liners, while top players earn something in the 100k-115k range at teams like Krefeld and Iserlohn. Straubing, Duisburg and Augsbrug might spend a little less, while the rest of the league spends more.

I'm told by a reliable source who I asked this exact question last year by email that salaries range in the DEL from $20,000 Euros on the lower budget teams to a maximum of about $150,000 for top ex-NHL players.

If even small market teams spend at least $2.5M for their entire roster, it means that a player makes $100.000 on avarage on a small market team, doesn't it ?

Considering that top teams spend more, that leaves me wondering how the max. salary should be about $150.000 ... :dunno:

Well, maybe the individual salaries are after taxes, while the budget numbers include all the payments.

As far as i know: yep.

Everything´s included what you mentioned [possibly other stuff too].

That's why I wrote the budget is from 2.5 - 6 million Euro, as those are the lowest and highest known numbers when it comes to player budgets.

The overall budget can be quite a lot higher. Hamburg, for example, has the second highest budget overall, as arena rent alone cost 1.5 million Euro, but when it comes to player budget the Freezers are quite a bit lower.
