Well, the big talk in the media is going to be about the shutout streak, I suppose. Heck, it already is... Boucher had to hold a press conference at the Xcel because of the attention.

Seems like a set-up for us to get shut out, the paranoid in me thinks.

I hope we score in the first minute. :)

Walz is out (along with the regulars of M. Chouinard and Brown) for sure.

Blurb from the star-tribune: Rookie winger Brent Burns did not rejoin the Wild on Thursday. He figures to be back at practice today.

Hmm.. I suppose he's likely to be scratched then?

Blurb from wild.com I liked the looks of:
Six Wild players recorded multi-point games against Chicago: C Eric Chouinard (2-0=2), RW Alexander Daigle (0-2=2), LW Pascal Dupuis (1-1=2), RW Marian Gaborik (0-2=2), RW Richard Park (1-1=2) and D Nick Schultz (1-1=2).

If we can get half of that tonight, I think we'll be ok, provided the defensive side can hold it together. I'd imagine the Coyotes will come out strong and fast right away. I'm sure they've watched the tapes; we've only had 2 shots on goal in the first in our last two games. If we can hold them off early, or make good on an early goal, I think we can work out a win. 3-2 or something like it.

Hmm, I'll say 3-1 Yotes.
The wild goal will be scored by Park.

Well, I'm hoping for seven more goals form the boys tonight!!!!! Why not make it eight. :p

Nah, more like 2-1 Yotes. Wild D better play a whole lot better then they did the other night. I'm not so sure we can scrounge up seven goals in the next three games. Rollie gets the start, I would assume?

I think the Coyotes will win, but Boucher won't get his shutout! 2-1 Coyotes with the Wild goal coming from Schultz. How's that for an unlikely player to stop the streak?

How the hell is Dupuis a healthy scratch?

Congrats to Boucher!

Sure looked like we were going to end that streak in the first, and then again in the second. That late goal was like a punch to the kidneys that just knocked the collective breath out of our guys, I think. Didn't get much good going in the third at all, really. That's not to say Boucher didn't earn it. Man, he made some pretty good stops tonight.

Sometimes it's just better to scratch your head when the lineups come out then rather try to figure out JL. Some guys that shouldn't play everday, do, and others sit even when there playing well. :dunno:

I know Ceber mentioned it in another thread. But isn't it pretty wierd when we don't score and we played way better then when we scored the seven the other night. :shakehead

As a Coyote fan in AZ, I just wanted to remark on how classy you Minny fans were in defeat tonite. No home fans like to get shutout, but you folks know your hockey and saluted hockey history by cheering the accomplishment. Truly classy and we'll see your squad two more times for two more good games.

Personally, I thought the cheering was pretty weak (or so it appeared on TV), I was a little dissappointed by that. Maybe they just had the crowd noise set on low at the station :dunno: Or maybe my TV volume was set on low :D

Park got absolutely robbed by Boucher in the 2nd, the look on his face was priceless. I missed the first period unfortunately, but I really liked what I saw in the second. I think Gaborik-Daigle duo has great potential, only problem is- Gabby just can't get it going. Erik Chouinard was playing with them today and did pretty good, but I'd really like to see Wiemer between those two. I thought Park had a great game, he was all over the ice. Laaksonen-Wiemer-Brandner line was pretty useless- didn't click at all offensively, got a minus-2 on top of that.

It wasn't just you I noticed the same thing. It could be because it was on Fox9, to me at least they seem to have terrible sound when compared to FSN.

Also congratulations to Boucher on the wonderful achievement. I really hope he can keep this up and turn himself into a great starter for the yotes.

Forgot to say thanks. Thanks! ;)

Which cheering did they show on TV? The stuff right at the end of the game, the bit when the Coyotes left the ice, or the cheers for the #1 star?

The stuff at the end of the game was fairly loud, but quite a few people had left, and quite a few were on the way to the exits (I will never understand that... freakin' historic record getting broken and people start leaving with more than 3 minutes left in the game).
Also, the cheers at the end had to overcome a few initial jeers, so they started a little slower. The cheers when the Coyotes left the ice were a bit louder still, I think. Not surprised they didn't sound all that loud on TV though, I've watched tapes of games that I attended and thought things were pretty loud in, only to find that things seem fairly quiet.

The applause Boucher got for the #1 star was the loudest, I thought, and was probably a fair bit louder than the cheers normally given to a #1 star for the Wild. I was kinda hoping they'd show that on Sportscenter or something, because I thought it was a bit of a bright moment for us as fans. We sure wanted a goal last night, but at the start of the third I know some people were starting to hope it came after the record was broken, and then once it was clear we were going to lose I think a fair number of people started rooting for the shutout. In all honesty, I wanted us to score no matter what. A flukey goal, whatever... I thought our guys worked hard enough and were playing well enough (in the 1st and 2nd, anyway), that they should've gotten a goal for their efforts. Not that I'd hold anything against people rooting for Boucher, though. I can understand that, and I was applauding as loud as everyone else when he actually got it.
