Jared Ramsden 01-09-2004, 09:54 AM Nothing major, but helps with the depth, something that is seriously lacking right now. Heard on the radio that he will be in the line-up on Saturday.

Grizzly Adams 01-09-2004, 10:37 AM good move by calgary.
loyns is a fiesty player with a lot of determination on the ice, a typical non draftee. but the fact that san jose has about 5 or 6 guys that would be called up ahead of him because they are more skilled, makes loyns the odd man out. great guy for a 3rd or 4th line role though.
Serena587 01-09-2004, 11:08 AM You guys are getting a good one. Lynn is really a class act, and he gives 100% on the ice game in and game out. Being a Cleveland fan, I know his chances in SJ were limited, but I'm definitely sad to see him go.
Brokencow 01-09-2004, 12:16 PM he'll fit into the sutter system perfectly. Not really the right type of player for san jose. Hes a grinder with some minor skill, definitely a good 4th liner
Red Bull 01-09-2004, 12:20 PM That would be crazy if he pulled a Kiprusoff (Is an odd man out in SJ and then makes them look like ***** after the trade).
kruezer 01-09-2004, 12:26 PM Seems solid, hey at least we don't have to play Montador at forward.

kiprusoff would have never achived the success he is having in san jose. after a very bad showing (even with the crappy defense in front of him) kiprusoff looked like the next turek; a goalie with great skill yet no confidence. that being said the sharks were lucky to pull a 2nd rounder for him.

heh we dont look like too much of ***** since both our goalies are doing super good right now. and a 2nd round pick isnt really an insult to a traded player
Hockeycrazed07 01-09-2004, 03:43 PM A word of warning; don't expect too much from Loyns. His stickhandling is atrocious. He gives it everything he's got and then some, but his skill set isn't too great.
~Crazed.
FLAMESFAN 01-09-2004, 04:09 PM It helps for now, but when healthy I think he'll be in Lowell:
Reinprecht
Saprykin
McAmmond
Gelinas
Oliwa
Green/Loyns
When healthy he's fighting with Green for 6/7 on the depth chart
(barring line juggling).
What we really need is a RW

For sure, I'm thinking Gelinas or McAmmond needs to head to the RW, one of the vets anyway, someone who can handle to switch, at least til Kobasew is more NHL ready.

Rich Preston say he can play all three forward positions.

Sutter was apparently really impressed with this kid at his first training camp with the Sharks. He will help with our depleted forward depth, as others have mentioned.
ForeignFlame 01-10-2004, 09:21 PM Well, Loyns gets an assist on Iggy's SH goal, in a great debut, and wins the GREEN HAT.
Way to go Lyn!!! :yo:

For sure, solid first game as a Flame, hopefully he can be a useful player in the future.
That was his first NHL assist BTW. And Iginla passed Gary Roberts with 586 career games as a Flame and moves into 7th all time and he is tied and poised to pass Jamie Macoun for 6th during the Maple Leaf game which is slightly fitting.
Hold the Pickles 01-22-2004, 12:21 PM Curious sharks fan here...
Howz lynn doing now, haven't heard much since assisting his 1st night?
ANy info would be appreciated.
looooob 01-22-2004, 12:37 PM no points since, but he's been solid as a 4th liner. he's certainly perceived as an upgrade over the likes of Sonnenberg and Josh Green...he'll be in tough once some healthy bodies get back to stay with the team (as you might now Sutter prefers to only carry 22 guys) but the coaching staff really likes him
Hold the Pickles 01-22-2004, 01:47 PM thanks
kruezer 01-22-2004, 04:40 PM I believe he has one more assist but I could be wrong :dunno:

Yep.
