The rumor mill up here in Pittsburgh has the Pens dealing Tarnstrom and/or Morozov. The reason for Tarnstrom leaving is his liability on the blue line with rookies and Bergevin (but you guys know about Bergy) but his play on the power play has been consistent with last years, which is a good thing. Knowing your current problems on the power play, I would assume that yinz guys would show at least minimal interest. Now Morozov, he turns 27 this year and does not fit into Edzo's system so they are possibly looking to deal him if the price is right. I just wondering about Afansenkhov, Svitov, and Cibak. I know only what I have read on tsn.ca and a couple other websites so please don't blast me for being ignorant. Hence, why I posted this on your board.

Nah, don't need another defensive liability in Tarnstrom when we could have had Delmore just recently. Morozov the same thing.

Are you implying that Delmore is the same player as Tarnstrom and of equal quality???

Ehh both are liabilities defensively and I think Igorella would eat them both alive. :dunno:

Yep. Neither Morozov or Tarnstrom would be welcome by Feaster or Tortorella.
There's one major tenant with playing in Torts' wide-open style. You must be committed to playing defense -- getting your butt back down the ice and never taking a shift off. Some guys find themselves in his doghouse because they don't want to play defense. There's room for mistakes, but you have to be willing to be defensively responsible.
Guys who are notorious for not willing to be responsible defensively find themselves blackballed by this organization. Tverdovsky is a recent example. The Bolts' wouldn't have touched him with a ten-foot pole, no matter how cheap he could have been signed. Same with Delmore. Tarnstrom falls into that same category. If you are already part of the organization and you're unwilling to be defensively responsible, you sit or go to the minors. If you're not part of the organization, and you don't play defense, you're not coming to Tampa.

In Tarnstrom's defense, I dont think it is lack of effort on his part, but a lack of defensive vision. He isn't GOD AWFUL in his own zone, but he is definately a liability.
However, he is MUCH MUCH better than Delmore in the offensive zone by a LONG shot.
Keep in mind the team he plays on and what he has done offensivley while playing on that team.
