now, this all depends on how close o'neill is to UFA...

and I think a lot of Preds fans will crucify me for this...

Legwand is cool and all, but I don't think that helps us.

agreed, not to say legwand isnt still a strong young player-not sure hes what they want to build around. i say that cause they already have staal, two good centers is important - but there are so many other areas they need help in. i will say that offer features a young, fairly valueable player making that one of the better offers for sure. you think the preds would trade him? that would kind of be giving up on him, huh? i dont know what his top end is anymore.

will they trade him? probably not. a lot of preds fans are kind of down on him because he's slow to develop his scoring touch. honestly, he's still our best playmaker by a wide margin, and every so often you see flashes of what he can be...he's just missing that sixth cylinder's fire. he's terrific defensively, great passer, great vision, INCREDIBLE skater...but he's being held back by a "wait for the perfect shot" mentality. mainly, i'd love to see o'neill in nashville for the playoffs, and i was throwing an idea out.

No way the Preds would trade Legwand for O ... but you're right about one thing. That offer is better than the average for dead sure :0)

A big package deal involving the two would work, though. If we could move some of our defensemen for one or two of Nashville's young promising d-men then that would work. Course, that's not going to happen.
