Well the guy is very good and I can see many Vezinas by his name , but compared to his Vezina season no where close .

If you compare how he has played this year up to this point and two years ago to the same point there is no doubt he is playing better.
Please remember two years ago he went on an amazing streak at the end of the year, so in my opinion after weighting that in, I'd say about the same.

Not as good.

Do you really think Theodore is Vezina and Hart deserving?

I agree he's playing great, and a top 10 goalie this year, but certainly not top in the league..

That's just because goaltenders as a whole are playing much better.

IMO Theodore is no2 in the league behind Brodeur, which would not garner him a Vezina or a hart but thats not to say he isn't playing the same (or better)

others such as Luongo or Aebischer or Vokoun are also playing great so at this point the Vezina is a crapshoot.

Also, I think theodore is suffering this year by playing on a much better team than 2 years ago. Why suffering? because although he has been the main reason for the habs success, guys like Souray, Ribeiro and Ryder are deflecting much of the praise, unlike 2 years ago when Theo could do no wrong. Make no mistake, Theo is the main reason the habs are so freakin' suprising this year, and yes he's back! :yo:

Well, he is probably Vezina worthy or at least consideration, basically that is all we can give anyone right now. Hart trophy probably not because Montreal is a much improved team, and he doesn't have to single handedly get them in the playoffs this year.

2001-2002 he was simply the best goalie for the final few months, this year he has been consistently been a top 5 goalie all year so far. As amazing as his stretch run two years ago was, if he played all year like he currently is, Montreal wouldn't have needed that type of play to get them in the playoffs.

Why nowhere close?

his numbers are better this year, his wins are more than half at this point (he had 31 2 years ago i belive)

habs only win when he lets in 2 goals or less (so again he is our MVP by a country mile)

why is he nowhere close?everyone in montreal, including theo himself sees that he's a better goalie at this point than 2 years ago, so yes he is playing better, and yes it is "somewhere" close.

Very very close, I'd give the tiny edge to 01-02' Theo.

he's playing better, his positioning is incredible, and his rebound control has improved, his overall game is technically sound right now, so its maiking it alote easier on him.
