Flames vs. Hawks

Looks to me like a must win game.
Seems every game in the near future will be a must win game.

Only 1 point up in the playoffs, the Flames have to get their winning ways back.
To prove to me they are capable of improving, and getting into the playoffs, the time is now, to start running away from the Preds, Kings, Stars, etc.

In the Toronto Sun today, it was mentioned that Kipper was pretty close to returning, but he didn't want to come back too soon.
That's great news.
I still hope we can find someone who will take Turek off our hands.

Go Flames Go.

This 5 game homestand will make or break the season. There is no reason why the Flames can't win 4 of 5. Chicago, LA, Anaheim, St.Louis and Atlanta. The Flames have been struggling a bit lately, but the bottom hasn't fallen out, and full credit to them for avoiding a huge slump. Considering the travel and injuries this month, the team has fared pretty well I think......

That was awful! Does Turek even know how to play hockey? Game just finished, and that was the most pathetic effort i've heard...the offence did their job, can't expect them to score more than 3 goals, but it helps if the netminding actually does their bit in ensuring we have a chance.

Not happy Jan
Not happy at all!!!

omg i'm still not over it, we lost to the worst team in the West...they hadn't won a game in 20, and who wins them their game, who is their star player? Roman Turek!

I had been defending Tuerk while he was injured, but now screw it.
Why does Sutter have to be so bloody stubborn? Get MacLennen in there for at least a game.

I too was not happy to see Turek in there again tonight. Enough already! He sucks everyone know it. Please throw in the towel on Turek before the playoffs fade. And they were saying tonight that Kipper is in full practice, thank god, which means he is close to coming back.

J-Mac hurt unfortunately. Get well soon, EVERYONE, NOW. That was just brutal.

Yes, Turek was not super sharp, but the defence infront of him just sucks right now. Horrible turnovers and too many odd man rushes. The blame needs to be on the whole team, not just Turek.

Unfortunately our beloved Flames lost.
Fortunately I was on the night shift, and didn't have to watch it, cuz I'd probably be more upset than I am now.

Bye Turek, go be a backup in Dallas, or somewhere else.

That's another thing I don't understand. MacLennen himself has said his injury should not prevent him from playing, that he played with it before Turek got back.
Sutter just insists that Tureks sees all the games until the all star break. Maybe he wants to see the fans run him out of town?

How can you make a comment like that when you didn't even watch the game? Turek is not the only one at fault. So is the rest of the team. The Flames have forgotten how to play defence and it shows.

I haven't played a lot of hockey, but I do know that when your goalie lets in a couple softies it deflates your team. I can't blame anyone who has trouble playing in front of Turek. Confidence is everything and in front of Turek they (the defence and the offence) do not have confidence in front of "red light" Turek and for good reason. I mean look at Calgary's record without Turek and with it's totally confidence. Just my opinion...but if you are among the few that still sticks up for Turek, you're tougher than me.

You took the words out of my mouth. They didn't start automatically playing great D in front of Kipper, that came once they knew he could come up with the big stops. Confidence IS everything. Only people who have actually played will understand that.

Calgary Devil.
The reason I said what I said is because I'm such a die-hard Calgary fan, and I have been for a darn long time.

It just breaks my heart to see such a great first half go down the drain.
Giving up 5 goals to the worst team in the league is an embarassment.

I don't know if it was all Turek's fault or not, but I've been watching every game since he came back. The team and Roman looked great against Nashville, in a 4-0 win, but I figure with Roman's size, I thought he'd be pretty stellar in Calgary over the years like he was in St. Louis and Dallas.

But, he hasn't impressed me at all over the last few seasons, and when you bring in a guy like Miika who didn't even play the first few months of the season, he took total control of the situation, and I thought Turek should have been capable of doing that in the past, and he never has.

I believe the team is very capable of competing for at least the 5th place in the conference overall, but I think something has to be done with the goaltending.

Sorry if I upset you, that wasn't my intention, I just want what is best for the Calgary Flames organization. It's just my frustrations setting in.
Sorry.
