I think Marty/coaching staff has realized that many of the younger players perhaps aren't used to goalies poke checking, or that their heads are down and not looking at the goalie. He is using it more and more and it really is a great move! yeah I got a feeling if he didn't use it yesterday, especially on Green (the OT killer) in OT he might have potted it and ended the game. Great to see him playing the puck aggressively, although I will admit, I wish he was more aggressive on PP dumps like he used to be. You have the new nhl to thank for that with the nonsense of the trapezoid. However, I can honestly see them getting rid of it within the next year or two...hopefully.
