to get Jeff O'Neill to Detroit? To be totally honest, I don't really like O'Neill that much. He doesn't use his above average size well and spends alot of time floating, similar to Shanahan in Detoit. I am inquiring about O'Neill because alot of Wings fans think he is what Detroit needs to push them over the top this year.

Simply put, it would take a lot more then most Detroit fans would be willing to offer. Jiri Fischer would probably be the bare minimum asking price from JR simply from the standpoint that O'Neill is 28 and an RFA... they don't need to move him since he will be a valuable player still in his prime after the re-building process.

I agree. Lots of people refuse to believe that Carolina is dealing from strength but they really are. Fischer would be the minimum that JR would accept i'm pretty sure. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see JR ask for another one of the young forwards from Detroit though. Zetterberg would look awfully fine, but we'd have to give up more than O'Neill in a deal like that though. Not sure about the realistic aspects to a deal like that, because most Detroit fans see Datsyuk and Zetterberg as untouchables. However, i'm not so sure if a deal came across that put them in great position to win the cup they woudln't take it.
