Pirates, Penguins advance to Eastern Conference finals

Portland and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton both advanced to the Eastern Conference finals with victories on Friday night in their respective division semifinal games. The Pirates posted a 5-4 win over regular-season champion Providence, while the Penguins ended Philadelphia’s season with a 3-1 triumph. The Penguins will host Game 1 against Portland on Wednesday.
