How old do you have to be to play in the OHL?

When you're 15 you can play for your hometown, but after that, you have to go into the draft.

This happened with Rico Fata, if I recall. He played for Sault Ste. Marie as a 15-year-old, then got drafted by London.

I believe Spezza did the same thing, but I could be wrong.

Spezza played with Brampton at 15, and I think Cleary played at 15 too.

Yes you can play when you are 15. I don't remember Cleary being one to do that, but definitely Spezza and Rico Fata in Brampton and the Soo respectively. Some drafted players, depending on their birthdates, are 15 when the season starts then turn 16 in time. Oh, and in case your curious the oldest players are 20 - but again depending on birthdate, some turn 21 during the season.
