A question to European hockey fans

Hey guys.. I have a quick question for you all that was sprung by the World Championships.

Yourself... as a fan. Did you enjoy watching the games being played on North American ice? Did you find the games faster paced and a little more exciting?

The reason I ask is that personally, I am not a fan of the larger ice surface. When I watch, I find the game to be slower and a lot more like soccer. It is more of a puck possession game and there seems to be less scoring chances.

The NA ice makes hockey a game of mistakes, a faster pace and a more exciting game for a fan. I prefer a game with more body contact and turnovers.

With the IIHF agreeing to do the 2008 WHC and 2010 Olympics on NA ice... do you believe this is the beginning of the NA ice becoming the standard in ice hockey? If you don't feel that way... why? Do you believe tradition will not allow it, or do European fans prefer the "soccer" feel that the larger surface brings?

I didn't think it made the game more exciting. It was interesting to see big-ice specialists trying to find their niche on the small ice. But I definately prefer international competition on the big ice.
