Finally, just in time for day 1.
As of this moment, the "english" version does not work yet but I'm interested to see how good this site will be this season.

They seem to be set up for live streams of every game (or so). Wow, that would be great!

FYI, the first game of the season is under way. Riga Dinamo is ahead with 3 to 1 vs Habarovsk Amur. Riga has goals from Alex Nizivy, Marcel Hossa and Mark Hartigan; Amur has goal from Kyle Wanwig.

So this page, for example, displays fine? http://static1.khl.ru/online/21650.html

Can I ask what browser you're using and if you're using English or Russian as your default system language?

I also can't get the feed of the Loko game to play right either on the KHL site or sportbox, but I suspect that's an issue with Windows media player on my computer.

site is not completed as for now, it is obvious that they wanted to launch it prior to the season start and were not able to do everything in time...

Huh? I'm a web developer myself and while it might not be the nicest looking site I've ever seen, I don't see what makes it so laugh-worthy?

Are you sure you don't have the temporary site stuck in your browser cache or something?

How official are the rosters on the site? I see that for Severstal, they have Maxim Trunev on the team, he's listed among the 15 forwards, does that mean he's made the team or is that roster not official in that he could still be cut.

Radulov made his way to the scoreboard in his first game with an assist and Emery shut out Spartak Moscow. interesting indeed!

and by the way, just wait until they can spend 10 million just to hire a web developer :naughty:

its not even that bad. its short and simple. look at the IIHF website. its pretty low-tech too. the faster the better. http://www.iihf.com/

if they can get a good english site running, im down to watch Jagr games.

Oh - can someone who can access the khl site post the IP so I can try connecting to it without DNS?

In a command prompt typing 'ping -a www.khl.ru' should work to resolve the IP address at least.

Considering that this is the new fancy oil money league website vs Swedish hockey associations old, really old website, which btw looks about as good as KHL's new site, makes it laughable.

I mean, just look at the top banner, is it even possible to compress an image more then that?

That's pretty strange reaction. Sensitive to all criticis?

Because any unbiased person will say that for a site that "has been developed by a team of professionals in 1/2 year" it looks bad.
And no need to call me Russia hater at this time, because if so, half of the country are russian haters.

And speaking of swehockey.se, are you serious? Really it's a federation site, they don't need advertisment like KHL, but swehockey is perhaps one of the most informative hoсkey sites on the web. Compare it to FHR if you want.

Yes, sensitive. This "unbiased" person could not help putting in "soviets" into his post.

Anyway, does not matter, good or bad ..., but it's nice to see Garl come around and react to this particular post out of all. Surprise :sarcasm:

Sorry if I offended you Den, but I really don't like the website. :) For a professional hockey league who wants to compete with the NHL that is not acceptable result after a whole summer of work.

And please look at my posting history and you'll see that I often defend the KHL, I want it to work. And I cheered for Russia in the WC final! ;)

but i very pleased with the games quality so far and its only starting of the season.

Last year personally CSKA-Ak Bars playoff series was better than anything i seen.

Which ones were empty? In any case: a Moscow arena=a bust. Apparently, Ufa has regrets about the size of their new arena, considering the current interest they say they need 15,000+. So here you go, a first NHL-size demand.

Plus they need total stats seperate from individual game. Reading the goalies, they put total games played and then wins and loses but SOG and some of the other stuff is individual game (ex. that 24 SOG was for the last game Grahame played not the total for all games he has been in. The other teams have been average that many SOG each game against Avangard. So you could say that instead of 24 it should be closer to 90 total. I know SOG are hard to find than in the NHL but the IHF is keeing them pretty updated for most games on their site.) Its not that hard to have them seperate and easier to read.

Looks like the site has corrected the stats. I doubt they will change the names though. For only being up for a short period of time, the site is doing ok so far. Have to admit I am impressed more by the individual team sites.

KHL web-site still keeps the players that were traded, waived, cut on the rosters where they played with the stats, it's confusing and wrong, at least there has to be a * next to the name explaining that they are no longer on the team
