some rumors...

apparently, atlanta scouts have been attending Preds games for the past few days, and Don Waddell himself was at the Preds\Wild game. Nashville papers are stating that Poile and Waddell have been heating up the phone lines over a possible deal that would see Andy Sutton to Nashville.

Basically, I was just wondering if you guys had heard anything about that. I wouldn't say it's DEFINITE, because I think the Preds are weighing their options\waiting to see if they are going to get outbid for Witt...but...anything you've heard would be appreciated.

I could see Sutton being moved for the right price, however that "right" price may be steep considering how important his play has been for the Thrashers this season.

So far Don Waddell has refused to even admit that the Thrashers are sellers. There have been no trade rumors regarding the Thrashers in any Atlanta media outlets.

Does Waddell even know what a buyer or seller is in the NHL?

shishkanov would cost a lot more than sutton, though. you're talking about our second best prospect, right behind Upshall.

For what it's worth, that same Thrashers scout was at the game again last night, which leads me to believe it's a roster player you'd be getting in return. Arkhipov might be a possibility, but it would have to be something like

Arkhipov\one of our spare defensemen
Sutton\one of your spare centers
