Wally112pac 03-07-2004, 05:22 PM I rerember some King's fans sayin how much better Frolov is than Ruutu.
Well Ruutu just tied Frolov's rookie point totals with 14 games to go. And Frolov is a year a head in development.
This kid is goin to be great. He made another sweet pass to arnason for his 2nd assist today.
Should hit 40 points.

Teemu 03-11-2004, 09:46 PM and 15 goals is a pretty respectable amount.

st_roland 03-12-2004, 01:10 AM I certainly wouldnt be surprised if he ends up better than Frolov. I've only seen him a couple times, but he stands out, no doubt. Hes got a certain indefinable something that the average NHLer doesnt. GO Ruutu!
MeN_Ace2 03-12-2004, 01:12 AM Ruutu stays hot! Another 1G 2A tonight, and he has 13G 16A for 29pts in the last 33 games!
:yo:
Qubax 03-12-2004, 01:29 AM unreal he's getting out of hand
Freudian 03-12-2004, 02:02 AM Great to see he is doing well and that he isn't the primadonna some claimed. God knows Chicago fans take a lot of crap (from other fans but also from their own organization) so it's great to see something you can feel proud of. This guy will be a great physical forward for years to come, and his offensive game will continue to improve.
shoot the PUCK!!! 03-12-2004, 09:07 AM [QUOTE=Freudian]Great to see he is doing well and that he isn't the primadonna some claimed.
Although he did go to the scoring official twice to get credit for a goal + assist. Looking to get the incentives in his contract kicked in.
Wally112pac 03-12-2004, 11:02 AM Anyone rerember Havlat last year?
He scored a goal then went nuts when the refs called it off.
It was either the last game of the season or with a couple to go. It would have been his 25th. I guess he would have got a bonus for 25 goals.
I don't know about you guys. But if i scored a goal and there was 500K or a mil on the line i'd make sure the refs knew about it too.
It's not being a primadona, you just want the money you earned.
When Ruutu got hot in january i said he'd finish with 20-25 points. He only had like 13 at the time.
Well he has 34 now with 13 games to go. I'm sayin he gets 42-47.
shoot the PUCK!!! 03-12-2004, 12:20 PM I'm all for incentive laiden contracts. Base salaries with performance bonuses
Chelios 03-12-2004, 10:39 PM 2 more goals tonite, including the game winner. Pretty soon all us hawk fans are going to be feeling this weird sensation coming over us, I believe it is called excitement. I somehow vaguely remember it from the early nineties during the days of Chelios, Belfour and Roenick.
Hell the way this kid is going he has an outside shot at 50pts. If he doesn`t make the all rookie team there is something terribly wrong.
Shane 03-13-2004, 04:49 AM I always knew this guy would be great. He just needed time to adjust to the North American game.

The Kings Fans think Frolov is the best prospect in the NHL. They think hes better a better prospect then guys like Rick Nash and Ilya Kovalchuk. Take what they say with a grain of salt.

Well Ruutu just shattered Frolov's rookie point totals with 12 games to go.
Should hit 45 points.
I just added Ruutu to my fantasy team for the final stretch :yo:
I remember when he was drafted, I was dying for the Rangers to pick him. Everyone was sure that Chicago would want Blackburn, and I was really excited (of course I also like Blackie, and hope his shoulder recovers). I heard a story that the Rangers had already made up a Ruutu jersey, and when Chicago picked him, they had nothing to do with it, so they just gave it to him.
Chuzwazza 03-16-2004, 10:42 AM I'm a Pens fan (ashamed as I am to admit it) so I'm pretty unbiased on this one. Frolov is a fantastic young player who will some day push the 35-40 goal mark. I'm not saying he's a Nash or a Kovalchuk, but he's a phenominal offensive talent and is one of the most underrated 2-way players going around, particularly for someone so young (and a european scoring forward at that). He has all the tools to be a star in the league, and he's not afraid of getting pushed around a bit either.
That said...If I had a choice...I'd take Ruutu.
Still think that in their prime, Frolov will get better numbers, but Ruutu has so many intangibles, that he's really tough to pass on
Frolov 6'3 03-16-2004, 02:37 PM The Kings Fans think Frolov is the best prospect in the NHL. They think hes better a better prospect then guys like Rick Nash and Ilya Kovalchuk.
C'mon now, that's nonsense and you know that.
About Ruutu..don't forget he has already played more PP minutes (240 minutes) than Alexander Frolov (179 minutes) did last season. He's also averaging more minutes per game (16.04) than Frolov (14.37) did last season. However..I don't want to compare him with Frolov, it's just a marginal comment. Ruutu has been a pleasure surprise the past couple of weeks and both will be superstars in the near future, no doubt.
Cheers
AGraveOne 03-17-2004, 02:10 PM I gots a question...what changed 16 games that he is now scoring? Just curious...is he on a new line? Off ice issues? Came into the season out of shape and he is not hitting stride? Was injured?
Thanks for any info.
AGraveOne 03-17-2004, 02:18 PM Nothing new occurred, he just has now finally found his groove and rhythm. The knee might be feeling nice now, too.
thanks
MeN_Ace2 04-02-2004, 03:34 PM Last 44gp, 21goals 18assists for 39pts!!! Nearly point per-game!
Last 20gp, 12goals 10assists for 22pts!!! Over point-per-game!
Wally112pac 04-03-2004, 05:30 PM Ruutu leads the Hawks in goals. :handclap:
