I think it is close.

The projection that i had was the Rebels instead of the 99ers.

I figured that TPH would get an invite, but its a shame that Team Illionis or the Chicago Mission couldnt come.

Quinte AAA Red Devils win the tourny. This should boost the stock of some of the players going into the OHL draft

It was a heck of a playoff, Teichmann was the difference, arguably the best player in the tournament.

While i only got out to the finals and the other Quinte game where they lost, they were very entertaining games. In the game where Quinte lost i thought they were not over matched as the score suggested, just a couple bounces changed the game. Teichman was the difference in the finals.

Final is on Sunday, Marlies and York Simcoe should be in a Semi, and Quinte and Elgin on the other side. Assuming that everything goes to plan.

Tie-breaking Procedures

Overtime and Ties:

a. In Preliminary Round games, if tied at the end of regulation time, teams will play one five (5) minute stop time "SUDDEN VICTORY" overtime period 4 on 4 (teams do not change ends). If still tied, the tie will stand and will count as one point in the standings for each team.

b. Ties in the quarter, semi-finals and gold medal games shall be handled as follows:

If tied at the end of regulation time, teams will not change ends, and play a ten (10) minute stop time sudden victory overtime period 4 on 4. If still tied, teams will play another ten (10) minute overtime period. If still tied after that, teams will retire to their dressing rooms while the ice is resurfaced. Upon returning to the ice, teams will commence playing ten (10) minute stop time sudden victory overtime periods until one team scores. In any overtime period, the team scoring the first goal shall be declared the winner. All overtime periods will be played 4 on 4.

Playoff Tie-Breaking Procedures:

Two Teams Tied
a. The team with the most wins shall be awarded the higher position. (Using all three games of the round robin.)

b. If a tie still exists, the team who won the game between the two teams will be awarded the higher position.

c. If still tied, add the goals for and the goals against together and divide into the goals for with the teams having the highest percentage being awarded the higher position. This method shall take into account all three of a team’s games in the round robin.

d. If still tied the team with the least number of minutes in penalties throughout all of the round robin games is awarded the higher position.

e. If still tied, the team which scored the first goal in the game between the tied teams is awarded the higher position.

f. If still tied, a single coin toss will determine which team is awarded the higher position.

Three or More Teams Tied
a. The team with the most wins shall be awarded the higher position. (Using all three games of the round robin.)

b. If still tied, add the goals for and the goals against together and divide into the goals for with the teams having the highest percentage being awarded the remaining wild card positions. This method shall take into account only the games between the tied teams in the round robin.

c. If the above exercise establishes a team with the higher position, the remaining teams in the tie breaking exercise are to be considered still tied. Depending on the number of teams still tied, the tie breaking procedure returns to the start of the appropriate tie breaking formula (2 team formula or 3 or more team formula)

d. If still tied the team with the least number of minutes in penalties throughout all of the round robin games is awarded the higher position.

e. If still tied, a single coin toss will determine which team is awarded the higher position.

Quinte is on a heck of a roll.

Elgin has been the best team in the tourny. Should be good. Teichmann may just make the difference. I think that Elgin is the better overall team, but its a close one.

York Simcoe and Elgin, who played in the best game of the year so far at Silver Sticks, play in the other semi's on the small ice. Will be a fun morning tomorrow.

i'll be at the finals in a couple hours - should be a good game.

other than Lessio, i haven't really seen many 'standouts', like i saw last year with the Jr. Canadiens squad...

I'm quite sure the scouts were shoked after seeing the GNML Wolves tie the Marlboros, then beat St. Catherines.
im sure it put a few more northern kids on the draft list.
i saw the GNML team play and there players are much better then some of the players expected to go in the top 100 or even as good as the players in the top 2 rounds and some of those kids are not even on the draft list probably.

I would say each team in the tournament had 3-4 exceptional kids, after that the talent level didnt vary too much.

fully agree, this upcoming draft if quite weak, talent level is gonna drop after the 2nd round
