Hi, folks.

I'm doing a little research on some old Finnish players, and I was wondering if anyone could pass along any info on a player named Jouni Rokauna.

Thanks!

Yes, that's the player.

I am doing research for an upcoming interview with goaltender Antero Niittymaki, who lists Rokama as his favorite player growing up.

I just wanted a little background on Rokama before talking to Antero about him and his influences in hockey.

Here is his stats:

I think he still has a Finnish league record in games as a backup goalie.

Of his TPS years, he won gold in 1990, 1991, 1993 and 1995. In JYP he got silver in 1989. Not remember if he had medals in TPS years in 1980s.

Rokama was also famous for allowing really soft goals, even from the red line.

Rokama won silver at 1985 in TPS. I think it is the playoffs, he'll never forgert. TPS lead the series 2-0 (best of five) and lost finally in the fifth game, allthough they lead that game 2-0 after 15 min of 1st perioid.

I remember that he allowed those easy goals allways in the regular season, but when the playoffs started, he used to be like a wall. Sounds like Esa Tikkanen..
