Team Denmark Under 18s close to promotion

The Danish Under 18 National Team is one victory away from promotion to the top U/18 level.
After losing their first game after OT and SO to France, the Danes have won three games in a row and will play the strong Latvian team on saturday - the winner of that contest will promote to the top level.

The most prominent players on the Danish team is goaltender Lasse Jensen (Rødovre) who has only allowed one goal in three games, Kitchener Rangers D-man Simon Grønvaldt, Jesper Jensen (-91, Rødovre), 92-born Patrick Björkstrand, Christian Nordentoft (Frederikshavn) and the two Frölunda HC-forwards Sebastian Svendsen and Mark Mieritz.

Mieritz has 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points in four games.
Björkstrand has 2 goals, 3 assists for 5 points.
Nordentoft has 0 goals and 5 assists.
Jesper Jensen has 1 goal and 4 assists for five points which makes him the best scoring d-man of the tournament.

It was a very close game, but the Latvians were able to take the final game with a 2 to 0 victory...

...the second goal into an empty net.
