Add in Reggie White to make it a triple threat match. Maybe throw in Kevin Greene too and have a fatal four-way match.:D

Not a bad idea. Still, if I'm sending my franchise player in the ring, it's tag team or bust.

I kinda regret not picking Henry Jordan now.

Good luck defending Deacon Jones and Kevin Greene on the same side of the pass rush BTW.

So now that only skipped picks have to be made up, how are we doing playoffs?

I'm assuming 2 conferences of 7, home-field advantage gets bye into 2nd round?

Garo

I have two ideas, but I'm not really sure about them:

- #6 and #7 play before the playoffs, to determine the last seed.
- Make a conference with eight teams and the other with six.

Detox

Pardon my lack of experience, yet how will seeding be determined? Via a point system? I.E: each manager votes without voting for their own team..7 points for a first place vote, 6 for a second and so on?

I would assume LoveDaSlug's idea of 2 conference 7 team play with first place getting bye would be the best way in doing this.

After the conferences are determined, you vote for the order in each conference (the assumption being that you will rank your own team 1st of course). Usually one person from each conference is designated to collect the votes for the other. Then we have threads for each playoff matchup and everyone can discuss the matchups, the GMs can provide arguments why they would win in the head-to-head matchup, etc. Then again one person for each conference collects the votes and based on the vote does a AP-style write-up for how the game actually progressed (this is actually much more fun than it may seem, I did it last year), then repeat until the Super Bowl.

Random.org is a fair way to go.

List all the teams from 1-14.

Have random.org list 7 numbers - those 7 make up 1 conference - those left make up the other.

As long as people are willing to do a write up, sure. I don't know how much time I'll have so I may not be able to. But it was fun--if the vote seemed more one-sided, the margin of victory in the writeup would be larger. The writeups do take some time to do well, and of course that person would be responsible for collecting the votes.

I don't mind the above conferences, any random order will suit our purposes.

I wouldn't mind doing a writeup or two, depending how one will be down for example. Concept seems pretty cool, but Im smack dab in the middle of finals so I doubt I could tabulate votes for all the match ups.

Rank order each conference based on how the teams would fare in a "regular season" and PM them to Billy.

Shouldn't we make separates threads for it?

Right now, we're leaving out the arguing part and I don't see the interest if we're going to do that.

Wow, pretty amazing how many teams got very low rankings and very high ones.

I think we should make a separate thread for each match up and have each manager say their piece on how they plan on overcoming any perceived weaknesses and exploiting strengths.

Wow, I thought my team was fairly balanced, but I must say I am surprised to get home field advantage in the AFC. There are a lot of really good teams in both conferences

I think we should make a separate thread for each match up and have each manager say their piece on how they plan on overcoming any perceived weaknesses and exploiting strengths.

This is how we did it last year. That's really the best part--having the GM's argue why they would win the H2H matchup, and neutral observers dissecting it, etc.

Each thread made for respective match ups, may not be as fancy of a set up like the baseball ATD but it'll have to suffice :p:.

Posted each lineup as they appear in the roster thread, bolded certain parts like offense, defense etc. for anyone who had added it for clarity sake.

Had to use some guessing to project the lineups for both Cleveland and Pittsburgh, yet I think it should be enough for everyone to have a handle on how each team looks.

What should be the deadline for each managers argument to be posted and the votes tabulated?

A reminder for everyone to get their write ups done as soon as possible and get their votes into BiLLY subsequently.

Any volunteers for first round write ups? I'd be interested on how each match up turns out and style that these write ups are done.

I've got 7 sets of votes so far. Only one of the games is close (4-3). All the others have a majority winner. If one more person votes for the team with 4 we'll move on, if someone votes for the one with 3, we'll continue.
