For an "Islanders diehard" you sure lack faith in your team. The Islanders have come from 3-1 down more than any team in the NHL; if the Isles do make it out of the Forum for a game 6, i'd suggest your fans give your team a little more support than the shower of boo's they recieved midway through the second period in game 3(I know you can't control the actions of everyone). This isn't the regular season, the boo's do not help any, it demoralizes the players and makes road games very easy on us. The towel barrage at the end was very dissapointing; I figured the whole of your fan base was a classy as the people on these message boards, I figured wrong. Good luck for game 6 btw

I just haven't seen anything in this series for us to take three games in a row, let alone two. Maybe one. I have the same feeling right now that had after we dropped the third game to the Rangers.

I don't know if the boos are hurting. The cheering isn't doing too much either.

Plus, I'm not going to be around for the next 3 games so...

I must say Fredrik Modin is doing his best season ever. He started the season in the fourth line of what I know, and now is a more complete player than before. Earlier he just had his shot, but now his working over the ice, taking defensive responibilites. Correct me if I'm wrong.

A question. Modin is a big player, have he started to play pysichal yet?

I also think Mo is having his best season. He's become almost impossible to knock off the puck, and he's better in his own end. The biggest change is that he's not unleashing hit slap shot every time down the ice and missing the net, which we saw a TON of last year. I can still hear that thing hitting the glass, BOOM! :)

Mo's gotten much smarter, more patient, and is using his size more. To me, he was easily our best player down the stretch, even when no one else was playing well.

you may be right Sketchykg, this series may well be over for the isles, but we still have to win one more. I am sure that the isles will give it all they have in the next game, but like all Bolt fans, i hope we close it out on friday. however, the game still has to be played and the refs still have to call it- so it should be a good game on friday. Go Bolts!

Couldn't listen to the game but a great result. Reading all the reports on NHL.com and TBL own site, and they only ever describe the goals. I notice Cully didn,t start and Stillman played 34 seconds. Could you let me know the injuries here, and how long before they are back.

Cheers Rob.

Thanks for the update.
I could see him on a line with Mats Sundin and Daniel Alfredsson for the upcoming WC. Could be a good line.

My goodness, I never even thought of that. Mo's 29 goals definitely puts him back into contention for a World Cup spot with Sweden.

They mentioned during one of the games a few weeks ago that there was a scout in attendance specifically to watch Mo. Can't remember which game it was, but it was the only game in recent memory where he played terribly. Hope he makes it anyway.

Cully is day-to-day with an "upper body injury". Best we can figure, a clean hit from Hamrlik drove his shoulder into the glass awkwardly, probably re-aggravating the bruised shoulder from a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure it's NOT the shoulder he had surgery on. Coach was quoted in the paper yesterday saying "he's fine". With Pratt able to step right in and play well, even Coach probably figured it was better to be safe than sorry.

On Stillman's only shift last night, he missed a check and drove himself hip-first into the boards, presumably bruising himself, but I haven't heard yet what the prognosis is. There might be more info tomorrow on him.

This thread should be saved for later when the series is actually over. The Isles could still come back even though I think its unlikely. Threads like this are bad karma and could always come back to bite us in the ass.

We didn't start it. We aren't that arrogant. A decade of futility instills humility. We're Lightning fans. Don't forget it.

I know it wasnt started by a Lightning fan, but still. Doesnt matter who its started by it still has bad luck written all over it. Going to games since '92 you dont need to remind me of the futile history because I've lived it and lets hope those days are long gone. I'm glad we arent that arrogant like some other fans, we know whats its like to be at the lowest of lows.

Just making sure. I feel comfortable that Sketchykg's despair won't spell karmic disaster for our Bolts. If they lose this series now, it won't be because of threads like this. It'll be because they choked.

I agree. But I am happy about this. This series, more than the last 2, might go a long way to getting that idiot out of here. (Mike Milbury)

That was my goal... to try to jinx the Bolts!

I was just furious last night. And I woke up this morning no better. Seriously, I think we MAY make it a little interesting... maybe win tomorrow night, and have a close game on Saturday, but I’ll be shocked if it goes to 7 games. Let alone see the Isles win it.

I'm just saying I dont want to jinx anything. I'm not very superstitous or anything like that, I just want to get by this series first and then worry about whatever comes next. When you start looking ahead or thinking something is over, it turns out to bite you in the butt. I'm glad theyre not looking ahead from what Taylor said on the radio today.

i think the Isles will come out banging away, Peca said he would get in anyones face who thought this series was over, and i think his team is taking that seriously. I would never expect Blake or Peca to lay down- both are hard nose players who always give their best. This is a big test for our boys, they have to close out an opponent who is sort of on the ropes and like a cornered tiger will fight very hard, and i hope they pass it by winning tonight.

The series is definetly over, I believe the treatment the fans gave the Islanders at the last game was the final nail in the coffin, no way do the Islanders want to win for the fans........

hey Islander4life: Peca played a really good game tonight and Blake played hard and showed his class at the end of game ceremonies. maybe you are right about your fans, but your team played hard to the end and gave it all they had to win. You should be proud of them, they created chances throughout the game and pushed us hard. honest effort should always receive praise. My hat is off the Isles for their effort.
