A Saturday game between Vityaz Chekhov and Avangard Omsk in the KHL didn't last any longer than 3 minutes and 39 seconds. It was postponed after a massive brawl because there was not enough players to continue the game. Teams got 691 PIM, which look like a record in hockey history.

The announcer mentioned something about a game between these two ending in fights last year. But he didn't really elaborate. Why is there such bad blood between these teams?

The KHL has chosen to given each club a 0:5 defeat and each club will get 0 points. Vityaz Chekhov was fined 4 million Rubles, Avangard Omsk 1 million Rubles. Vityaz players Verot, Sugden, Zuborev, Bakhriddinov, Litvinenko, Megalinski, and Avangard player Vlasenko were suspended for one game. Verot, Sugden, Svitov and Vlasenko were fined 150,000 Rubles. Both coaches were fined 50,000 Rubles. Vityaz also received a warning that the club could be excluded from the KHL in the event of a similar violation that leads to the suspension of a game.

Why do you need to give Vityaz a warning, is it not hard to see they dont want to play real hockey? 18 points behind Minsk and who do they sign, another tough guy, not a scorer or defender, somebody who could help them get better. Please, just kick them out of the league already. Does anybody see them returning next season?

I must say the whole thing was pretty hilarious. And for the most part, pretty honorable considering everyone just paired up and there wasn't a lot of cheap shots.

The goalies were hilarious. The starters and backups paired off and just stood there looking at each other, just chilling out and have no intention of starting anything.
