So what are some favourites of you when you were a kid?

Personally, I loved the Mighty Ducks movies, Rookie of the Year, things like that.

Also, a fan of the first two American Pie movies.

Edited your list for the movies I was allowed to see:D
add:
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan
The Fox and the Hound
The Last Starfighter
Gremlins
The Goonies
Ghostbusters
The Black Hole
Conan The Destroyer
Godzilla
Rodan
Destroy All Monsters

and any Abbott and Costello movie (I miss WPIX in the 80s...of course, now I don't get it anymore as I'm on satellite and not cable).

I could add more movies from later years, but I consider the "growing up" part to be before I became a teenager.

Basically only favorite movie growing up. I do remember watching NIMH about some rats and a bunch of Disney cartoons and An American Tale but none of them were really favorites.

Just about any science fiction/horror movies when I was a kid, loved them, couldn't get enough of them--Mothra, Burn Witch Burn, Night of the Demon, etc; French New Wave and Hollywood classics from the silents through the 60's when I hit my late teens.

Too funny. I thought I was the only person who had ever seen that film. It inspired me to go out and buy a cheap pair of roller blades. Jack Black as Oggie. Seth Green as Mitchell Goosen's cousin. And Edie McClurg as the cousin's mother!

I've been trying to rent this movie in Victoria at little video stores all over the place, and can't find it. I made a friend of mine sit through Weekend At Bernie's and she loved it. This one is next on the list. I guess I may have to buckle down and buy (or otherwise acquire) it.
