Probably the worst beating we'll see all season long. Poor Tanner. Good for him to step up to Carkner, though.

Carkner Versus Glass - Beatdown of the yearManny* 02-04-2010, 09:33 PM Probably the worst beating we'll see all season long. Poor Tanner. Good for him to step up to Carkner, though. wzbsvO6TECM damn. Eytinge 02-04-2010, 09:43 PM Worse than the Orr beatdown on Carkner...I'm surprised Glass wasn't seriously injured. shibster 02-04-2010, 09:43 PM Lots of shots landed by Carkner, but his personal beatdown of the year has to go to Orr, ruined his face on that one. djIrAQQYzHE Mach 9* 02-04-2010, 09:45 PM Worse than the Orr beatdown on Carkner...I'm surprised Glass wasn't seriously injured. ? The Orr-Carkner fight was close until the very end, this just wasn't ever close. Besides, Carkner won round 2 by just as much :p: Mach 9* 02-04-2010, 09:47 PM Lots of shots landed by Carkner, but his personal beatdown of the year has to go to Orr, ruined his face on that one. djIrAQQYzHE The fight was close until the end, and as I stated above, Carkner took it to Orr in round two. Carkner V Glass is about 10x bigger of a beatdown. shibster 02-04-2010, 09:52 PM The fight was close until the end, and as I stated above, Carkner took it to Orr in round two. That's true 68 02-04-2010, 09:59 PM When I read the thread title I thought Carkner punched the Plexiglass or something. Ottawa fans must be happy with Carkner, 24 fights for 500K when Laraque had 4 for 1.5M. SpezDispenser 02-04-2010, 10:13 PM lol Carkner is just an absolute beast. danishh 02-04-2010, 10:23 PM When I read the thread title I thought Carkner punched the Plexiglass or something. Ottawa fans must be happy with Carkner, 24 fights for 500K when Laraque had 4 for 1.5M. not to mention he's our 3rd best pk dman, he fills in whenever phillips or volchenkov take a penalty. Stick To Your Guns 02-04-2010, 10:29 PM Worse than the Orr beatdown on Carkner...I'm surprised Glass wasn't seriously injured. LOL seriously? Orr knocked Carkner down, no damage done, Orr overpowered him and won the 1st fight, Carkner sat 5 and came back. Second fight almost the same except Carkner came out and demolised Orr's face and Orr had to leave the game. The Expert 02-04-2010, 10:52 PM Lots of shots landed by Carkner, but his personal beatdown of the year has to go to Orr, ruined his face on that one. djIrAQQYzHE Agreed. Orr didn't fight for over a motnh after that one. CaptBrannigan 02-04-2010, 11:03 PM I think Scott from Minnesota tuning that Canucks guy was a tiny bit more brutal. Either way, damn. brayden11 02-04-2010, 11:17 PM he definitely lost but he's not a enforcer like Carkner is shibster 02-04-2010, 11:37 PM Ehh, Carkner is the more talented/useful player, no doubt. LaurentHou* 02-05-2010, 12:45 AM John Scott vs Picard canucksfan 02-05-2010, 09:53 AM Carkner is awesome because he can fight with the best of them and he can play hockey. Pog Form 02-05-2010, 10:39 AM Ouch, filled him in pretty good. Mr. Canucklehead 02-05-2010, 10:50 AM From a Canuck POV, that one was nowhere near as hard to watch as John Scott of Minnesota destroying Alexandre Bolduc. Kessel>Seguin + 02-05-2010, 11:15 AM Where was Hordi? Was he not dressed for this game? If so that is his job to challenge Carkner, no need for Glass to be doing that is Hordi is in the lineup shibster 02-05-2010, 11:31 AM Where was Hordi? Was he not dressed for this game? If so that is his job to challenge Carkner, no need for Glass to be doing that is Hordi is in the lineup I'm not sure if Carkner obliges Hordichuk in this situation, though. Glass was looking to make some noise, because he wants to win a roster spot. Hordichuk has been around for a while, Ottawa at that point had all the momentum, and Carkner is just a much more useful player. The fight seemed like more of a favour to Glass than anything else, despite the outcome. The Four Seven 02-05-2010, 12:25 PM I didn't even know who he was before I picked him up on my fantasy team for some much-needed PIMs, and now I'm a fan. He's been really good for me, but even better for the Sens. The Littlest Hobo 02-05-2010, 12:36 PM I liked the shot of Glass in the box later with the ice on his face. It almost looked like he was crying. Poor little guy. JerkChicken 02-05-2010, 12:58 PM First off, I like Glass's heart & all...and his willingness to 'take one for the team', but he should freakin' realize who he's going up against. If Carkner had laid out a Sedin or something and you have to respond - that's one thing. But in this case - Glass was a bit foolish to try & spark his team by taking on Carker. He stepped up too many weight classes in that one, and it showed. Not sure why Hordichuk was dressed against the Canadiens the other night - who lack any real tough guys - but NOT against Ottawa who have both Carkner & Neil to contend with. Odd choice by Vigneault. As for 'Beatdown of the year' - uhhh, no. I totally disagree. Ya, he got tuned pretty good - but it wasn't even the biggest beatdown a Canuck has taken this year. For that, see: Bolduc, Alex That was another case of 'big heart - small brain'. Minister of Offence 02-05-2010, 03:17 PM Carkner's sure making a name for himself. And like its been mentioned he's played solid and mostly mistake free hockey all year even responsible top 4 minutes at different times this year. I dont know all the guys around the league, but Id be surprised if there was a guy who mixed being a fighter/hockey player better then Carkner this year. He lost one fight to Orr this year, which he got revenge for next time they met. "We're just getting word from the Leaf bench that Orr's face, and I'm quoting here, looks an awful lot like a bowl of stew." JUMBOcanuck 02-05-2010, 03:57 PM Where was Hordi? Was he not dressed for this game? If so that is his job to challenge Carkner, no need for Glass to be doing that is Hordi is in the lineup Hordi was a healthy scratch, Rypien was playing though. danishh 02-05-2010, 06:28 PM Hordi was a healthy scratch, Rypien was playing though. ryp faught the right guy though. I know he likes going out of his league a ton, but fighting neil is respectable enough, no need to go after carkner. Avery4Byng* 02-05-2010, 06:52 PM ryp faught the right guy though. Hordy has been less then thrilling as an enforcer.... And if he does drop them with Carkner, Hordy will just trade punches until he slips and falls down. Has a Canucks fan ever seen Hordy KO someone? or even bloody an opposing fighter? Hordy = Least intimidating heavy out there. But the beatdown of the year? No, that goes to Big John Scott's beatdown on that guy whose name I forget...Bolduc? StammerHed2010 02-20-2010, 03:02 PM Oh man. I went to the Canucks game against Tampa and was in the VIP lounge after the game. Glass came out and was hanging out (O'Brien and Hordichuk know people there I guess). I asked him who was the better fighter, him or Rypien........ He said "Ryp definitely"........ Judging by this video, it should have been pretty obvious :amazed: Still had a big black eye Nice guy though CanadiensFan1321 02-20-2010, 07:10 PM Carkner laid a beating on Glass. Must have hurt, but i'm surprised he didnt get injured. | ||
