If the champ in each weight class suddenly retired

Just a simple game, if the champion of each division suddenly had to retire or quit MMA, who do you think would become the next champ?

For me i'd say

HW: Mir
LHW: Shogun
MW: Tough one...before 109 I would have said Marquardt but now I don't know. Belfort I guess?
WW: Alves
LW: Florian

If Silva retired, Franklin would move down so fast again it's not even funny.

I would say probably Belfort at MW with Franklin again being the #2.

I think I'd take Rampage at LHW, now that he's back.
I like Franklin at MW as well.
I'm leaning more towards Alves than Fitch at WW.

Of all the champions BJ is the only one I could never see losing.

At WW, it pretty much has to be Alves or Fitch right now. After another win vs a top opponent I'll likely consider Thiago too. At HW there's a few decent choices in Nog, Cain, Mir, JDS and Carwin but right now I still think Nog is the best one. I don't think Cain gets enough respect and expect him to give Nog a helluva tough fight and possibly win too. At MW for me it's pretty much a toss up between Franklin and Belfort although Sonnen looked damn good vs Marquardt. At LHW it's between Shogun, Rampage, and Nogueira for me. Surprised Ensane has Rashad as his choice. I came away pretty unimpressed by him after the Silva fight. I used to think he could beat Rampage but I really doubt it now. Care to elaborate why Rashad's your pick? I'm not calling you out or anything, just thought he was an interesting choice.

At LW, I hope Florian but some of you could be right about Gray dry humping his way to the title.

I think he'll beat Rampage, and his wrestling could potentially give Shogun fits if he uses it properly.

That would be my guess also, but in all honesty it would suck if they retired, all of the UFC champs are all 1 step above all of there adversaries, i don't see any of them losing there title anytime soon.

All of them except Machida. The other guys probably won't be beat anytime soon.

Except for Machida and Lesnar, IMO.

Machida already "lost" to Shogun, and at HW, guys are so massive it's not uncommon for a surprise KO win.
