Gee I hope Ruutu doesn't miss too many games. I guess he was really hurt the way he laid there like a *****.

Meszaros blocking a shot with his throat got off the ice quicker than that.

Since apparently you can't wish injury on players I'll just say I hope Ruutu survives.

That was pretty predatory. Fedoruk chased him all over the ice.

Ruutu has gotta get up though.

Not like Fedoruk could fight him, he's break his face again.

*bailing after Carkner lands 1 punch isn't a fight.

Don't worry evryone, Ruutu is fine, just doing his job. Drew 4 minutes of PP, not too shabby.

Fedoruk did it cuz Ruutu jumped into a player (Konopka?) in the far end. Fedoruk did his job, Ruutu did his too.

Obviously, it's not surprising that Ruutu ate a punch in that situation. He deserved it.

I don't even think we scored on the double powerplay.

Tampa announcers are such homers.

Shocking that two people employed by the Tampa Bay Lightning for Tampa Bay Lightning fans would be biased towards the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Um, so we should not judge hockey players by how they act in hockey games but rather ignore that and make an opinion of how they are off the ice?

He hasn't done anything Downie, Cooke or Kaleta esque in almost a year. He was very behaved this year, yet gets **** on everytime he is talked about

That tv announcer talking like ruutu is suprised that he was a target of action like that.. Did he mention somewhere, "wow im suprised, i thought that everyone loves me and im good boy like crosby". No he didint say that.. Like in the women business, you cant get, if you dont give.

To an extent, yes. It's important to remember that each of these guys plays a role in order to have a career. The difference between the Ruutus and Tuckers of the world and a guy like Sean Avery is that off the ice, the former are absolute class acts and intelligent to boot. Avery can't negotiate the line between what goes on on the ice and real life.

I personally love the way Ruutu plays. He works extremely hard on the ice, is extremely tenacious on the forecheck, chips in with some offense from time to time, hits hard, drops the gloves when necessary (very effectively, I might add), and truly gets under the skin of his opponents. He takes a lot of lumps for his teammates. He does what he needs to do to play a regular shift in the NHL - not too many people on here who wouldn't do the same, I suspect. I know I would.
