This is what I meddeled around with when I had too much time on my hands..
Jesse Niinimaki - Tuomo Ruutu- Lauri Tukonen
Tuomas Pihlman - Mikko Koivu - Sean Bergenheim
Jani Rita - Olli Jokinen - Jarkko Immonen
Antti Miettinen - Valtteri Filppula- x
Joni Pitkänen-Ossi Väänänen
Sami Lepistö - Oskari Korpikari
x-x
Lehtonen
Toivonen
Niittymäki/Ahonen/Lassila/x
x - indicates somebody younger than those posted here (ie unknowns)
Notes: in 2014 Olli Jokinen by my count is 35, thus possibly still around.. though moving him out and putting someone else in shoudn't make a huge difference. In 2010 he's 31 and thus still in his prime.
Antti Miettinen would be 34 in 2014 and 30 in 2010.
If Miettinen and Jokinen are gone/declined by then, then replacing those two should be doable with the number of top prospects we've been developing recently.
Naturally half a million players have been not noticed, and I dont even claim that I've noticed them, as I did this quickly and with trying to use as many players as possible that everybody knows about..
With Defenders generaly having longer careers, the likes of Lydman/Berg should still be around, I just left them out because I feld there had to be room for 2 guys who havent appeared on the radar (yet).
A lot also depends on how some of these players fulfill their potential, but from the looks of it, we will have a very very strong team.
If in the 90's Sweden's core was Forsberg-Lidström-Alfredsson - Tommi Salo - Kim Johnsson then in 2010's (and sooner) we will have an equally impressive core with Tuomo Ruutu - Olli Jokinen - Joni Pitkänen - Kari Lehtonen - Lauri Tukonen - etc - etc
Any comments?
